Coffee 31 in town near the mosaic.
Good value, friendly service and loads of Hull memorabilia to look at.

Seeing his name reminds me of when the Beatles first went to the USA. One journalist asked them if there was anything they particularly wanted to do. See Muddy Waters they said. Where is that asked the journalist. Now we read Yanks saying we ripped off blues musicians in the 1960s when in reality we made whites there aware of people they knew nothing about.

As for Lord Line, is there anywhere else where so many derelict buildings are left to rot for decades?

Public realm? Is that what we used to call an open space?

Yes, loads of places, even in recently developed trendy places like Shoreditch, there's still loads of building that are derelict and have been for decades.

I believe the technical definition is 'a built environment where the public has free access', so yes, it's basically what we used to call an open space.

I just go by Leeds where I worked late 60s/early70s where behind the station as far as the eye could see it looked like a bomb site with empty, collapsing buildings, derelict, rubbish strewn canals. Now it has the Armouries, smart apartments, restaurants, bars and canals being used again for pleasure cruising. Meanwhile Hull has bomb sites used as car parks 70 years later, a bombed out cinema and prime sites near the city centre such as the New York hotel festering for donkeys years. Hate to see Leeds doing better than Hull at anything.

If you think there are no derelict sites in and around Leeds city centre, you haven’t been looking very hard. There are loads.

He'll know. It just doesn't fit in with his agenda.

I was on about the area behind the station where the Armouries is situated. Went there to take grandson. In and out staying as short as possible. Don’t think there any bombsites or burnt out cinemas from WW2 though.
There are areas of Leeds which make some of the estates in Hull look, highly desirable places to live.

Hull is far better than Leeds. The superb developments around the Hull marina and the nearby fruit market **** all over the appalling scenes of dereliction south of the Aire, including a Grade 1 listed building literally being left to rot. Why can’t Leeds get it right like Hull can?

What I’ve written there is just as ludicrous as the bollocks about Hull you wrote earlier. And no amount of dull tales about trips with your grandchildren will change that. You were wrong. Admit it. I dare you.
