i think on old buildings like that if there is some extension built, it should be a clear glass building, similar to the original design
this new one looks like the entrance to a train station

Last time a large hotel was in the pipe work the council knocked it back due to the design. Think the comment where on the lines of " it looks like a cig pack" and " it looks like a North Korean missile silo"

It had been designed by a Hull born man who has a high regard in architectural design.
