None of that would happen.

I’d use being banned from the stadium as a stick to beat them with. As they should be doing already with those that actually have been banned.

I don’t suck arse, never have. I’ve got by. As long as you tell the truth you’re doing nothing wrong. Burns’ wages are paid by his listeners he, and his bosses, have a duty to produce honest work rather than give dishonest, bullying local businessmen a platform to spout their propaganda unchallenged.

SCB makes a fair point here. It is licence payers who pay the wages.

Him and Ehab "have not had/been paid one pound or made one pound in eight years from the football club".

I can't believe anyone with his wealth would say such a stupid thing. "It's a hard life for Ehab and I over eight years without remuneration".

How detached from reality can you get - who does he think he's fooling? They both need to attend a food bank and ask what it's really like to have a hard life.

Some of it has already happened once and the rest is based partially on how funding in local radio stations works (the most listened to stuff gets the money, as it was very simplistically put to me). Burns has more listeners if Radio Humberside is commentating on Hull City matches. Does he not have a responsibility to his listeners to preserve that situation and not unleash the hell of Viking on us again? I get what you'd have done if you'd have been in his situation. I get that you don't rate Burns because he lacks your bravery. I am just trying to explain that the vast majority of journalists would have done the same in his position. And some, such as Dave Gibbins for one, would very probably have been actively mocking those who opposed Assem.

Everything Assem has said is being challenged all over social media. He looks a fool (again), as does his ever-decreasing band of apologists. As he will do every time he opens his mouth. That's no bad thing.

Does he mention the 88 million is offset against tax against his own company. How much has he saved there?

Has his feud with the council come about because they can’t get what he wants?

If we go up will the price remain 50 million? I bet not.

Why not sell Bowen and reduce the asking price? Or is the idea of Premier League lucrative for them?

Highlighting on Social Media is not challenging. Burns should have done his job, you’ll never convince me otherwise.

I get that. I never really thought I would. I was just trying to discuss what the wider picture is. There have been times I've found him hugely in the wrong, but by local radio standards I think we're well served by Burns in general (and Phil Buckingham in the HDM for that matter). Based on what came before them they are by and large huge improvements. It's easy to get stuck into local journalists because they don't reflect your own agenda but they're stuck being all things to all people.

And I understand the feeling that it would be great if Burns had Paxmaned Assem here. But it was never going to happen. And it's never going to happen, from Burns or anyone else. Assem doesn't need to talk to the press so when he does it will only ever be on his terms.

Agreed.

Burns is no fool despite what many media professionals on here think.

He is astute enough to realise that AA usually condemns himself with his own words: his contradictions, revisions of history, bizarre opinions, exaggerations and petty grudges.

The more he talks, the worse he looks.

Keep him talking, let him feel at ease, and the damaging bullshit flow out of his mouth.

The public are discerning enough to identify the truth.

I was with you until the last line.

Dave Gibbins. There was a ****. I remember after the FC fans ripped down the goalposts at Huddersfield someone rang in saying that City fans in FC shirts were responsible and that his mate had told him there had been a break in at the FC shop and 75 shirts were stolen, which is where they got them from. Gibbins immediatelymsaid that sounded plausible. My call to ask if he would check with FC to check if it was reported to the police as FC would need a crime number for insurance as 75 shirts were worth a fair amount got short shrift from him. Though he was squashed by a Leeds fan who rang in and said if it was Hull City fans they must have been planning it a fair while as people in FC shirts going back for about 5 seasons were on the pitch tearing down the posts and taunting Leeds fans.

So, did Duffen find and front a Saudi consortium with no money? That must be as rare as finding rocking horse sxxt. But this wasn't the failed bid Allam mentioned so which of the other two if we believe rumours?

What's Duffen's version of events?

One question I wish Burns had asked is

"Given that you're an astute business man why have you historically let go valuable assets (players) for free and will probably repeat
that again this summer ?"

''Good question David, I am a businessman and these players are on Premier League salaries, I want the best for Hull Tigers, oh sorry Hull City, I want the club to be sustainable so this is a good business decision. Oh by the way why ask me, I've already told you I know nothing about football!'

Ahead of the clips being played, Burnsy said this is a conversation, not a confrontation.

He also made reference to them being kicked out the stadium before and he the damage his previous criticism had caused.

It's been five years since his last interview, Burnsy obviously thought some info was better than none and he was never going to answer anything difficult anyway, he didn't even answer the easy ones with any sort of honesty.

Decent summary from Phil Buckingham...

The first step to overcoming a problem, or so they say, is to first admit you have one. And Allam is steadfastly refusing to accept City’s dwindling fan base is an issue. Kids for a quid? Bring a friend for a fiver? Not any time soon, it seems.

City’s chairman said plenty to pique the interest of supporters during his return to the spotlight but he came armed with neither an olive branch nor a thirst for change.

None will have been surprised by that but Allam has only underlined he will leave – whenever that may be – as the owner unable to command the acclaim that his contributions to City’s history should have warranted.

The one question I would have asked is 'Why go into the premier league with 12 fit players ?'
How can you let that happen ?

DB: So how do you sell it then? AA: We had a case before, the Chinese people, who were interested and they had the money. Then the fans when they threw the balls during the game that killed the deal. What they said is during the process ‘We know what you have done for this city and the club and that’s something we will never match. But if that’s what you get in return, what about us?’ One day, when things are not that well. They thought we have militant fans to stop the game from being played when throwing the balls. Every club has militant fans around the world. It’s always a minority and you’ll always have that. It scared them at the time but they have the money.

Nothing changes, he is still blaming the fans. I was just thinking on Saturday we don't hear many Allam out chants anymore. More people are focusing on the team on the pitch instead. After this interview it may start up again although I think most people realise it seems nothing will get them out.

I've just walked by the BBC building. I see the knives are out. What an amazing piece of sculpture.
As for Burnsey interview. They could blow it out of their arseholes for all I care.
