Well, it's a view, but personally I think now that Brexit is out of the box, no one will get it back in again. Before the referendum, Leavers thought they were in a small minority. Then their eyes were opened.

If France was given a referendum, I think there's a fair chance it would vote leave. I see the gilet jaunes are out on the streets again today

The Gilet Jaunes are anti Macron not anti European. The idea that any European country could go it alone in the future is complete rubbish and pretty sure it will never happen

Europe is very much united and even the far right knows today that it would weaken their own country ... not to say it’s not a significant force but that’s been there for 50 years ... it peaks here and there but to translate that into a Ellers type dream is just from the perspective of cherry picked news media and lapped up

What the U.K. is doing is fine enough there has always been a stronger anti Europe stance in the UK than anywhere else ... it’s Anglo Saxon culture and that’s unique

The result was a complete surprise at the time and the blues misjudged the entire thing but to then transpose that to a theory that the entire EU is fragile and breaking up is daft imo.

Modern EU countries still see the united benefits not to say that you won’t see reform in the future imo . They will recover, unite and grow

None of us can say that yet about the divided EU in fact Brexit has united the EU more . If you look into that with a open mind you will see I am correct

Like Chanel and many others that are setting up offices here. Funnily the remoaners never seem to mention that.

Correct they have seen the opportunity as the big shop gets a make over

No one has ever said on here that goods won’t be available imo

I say again the common idea and theme is the best place to sell to the UK shop will be from Europe
A lot of money to be made especially when you control the price and tariffs
Why do you think Remainers said costs will rise because they will ... nothing funny in that as it will affect the UK average person

It was Macron himself who said France would probably vote to leave the EU.

My perception is that Brits are not anti Europe at all. On the contrary. They just don't like the EU and what it is turning into.

I wouldn't worry Turkish the bloke talks utter crap. I saw his comments as I wasn't logged in so my usual block didn't work. He just has a problem because the UK has given assurances to EU nationals whereas the Mafia are using them a bargaining chip. Sadly DT always gets nasty when he's made to look a dick.

As for being ’strung up’? As soon as I stick up for myself the French would either surrender, run away or collaborate with the Germans.

I can assure you I am perfectly content looking like a dick nothing nasty but remember so many times you have insulted the entire French people with your stupid jokes. Consider my comments as an Equaliser because you continue to post insulting things about the French people ... why shouldn’t I comment on something like that ? The hypocrisy is we know you have a French holiday home yet you feel that way about the people I am sure welcome you into their country?

As for the Turk bloke? Nothing no point as it’s exactly that nothing dick or no dick it won’t affect me ... his opinion means nothing to me

Interesting statement that re sticking up for yourself and taken of course in jest because in real life that I believe would not be the case

It’s taken generations for healing to evolve in France but in areas passion is still very much felt and imbedded from darker days ... To use cheap jokes about yellow wine or cowards is frankly very stupid. I maybe on my own on here but to me that’s top of the dick charts

Business needs certainty, so we need to sort this by 29 March, but I'm amazed just how companies have taken forthcoming Brexit in their stride

It’s called planning for all events
In translation it means they have covered themselves as I have mentioning on the snapshot of prep I have witnessed and been involved in
The idea that UK business has just stood still especially with the globals is rubbish
Yes SME are the ones that are making the noise and so they should it will be devastating to many
Think the globals can’t take a hit ? They will go where best suits them and their profits
If the political climate is divided and unstable in the marketplace of the UK then where would be the place to operate from ?

? Yes it was. Le Pen is more popular than Macron. There is also a new kid on the block who will take over from Le Pen in the future. Macron will be gone at the next election and he will disappear into obscurity. Merkel will also be gone. All these EU loving freaks will be gone in 3 years.

I will be going to Germany this month and France the month after. I have always stated that I love Europe, I just don't like the EU.

You've made my point for me. It's less Brexit that causes concern, more the transition to an independent UK after 40 odd years. And transition is...transitory

It's not cancelled, it's postponed pending resolution of Brexit. A no deal would still have to have terms agreed between the the UK and the EU to minimise disruption all around.
You really are a master of evading giving your answer to a very straightforward question. Do you want me to repeat it or just have a look at post [HASHTAG]#27503[/HASHTAG] for yourself. You only need answer the first question as I assume you do care if people do end up losing their jobs as a result of a No Deal Brexit but hey if I am wrong about that do let us know.

Which companies would they be? Some UK companies are opening man and a dog offices on the Continent for technical regulatory reasons. EU companies will do the same in the UK.

See this post from a while back for a list that took about 5 mins of research. No doubt a more comprehensive list out there somewhere. Many companies will set up offices for regulatory reasons. Many will actually move jobs ie Project Reality

Hi Ellers - took me about five minutes of research to come up with the following list:
  • HSBC moved 1,000 jobs from London Paris
  • Lloyd's of London moved 100 jobs from London to Brussels and the EU HQ from London to Dublin
  • Barclays moved 150 jobs from London to Dublin, also moving EU HQ
  • Bank of America moving HQ from London to Dublin
  • UBS moving unspecified number "under 1,000" from London to EU offices
  • EMA - 890 jobs, moving from London to Amsterdam
  • European Banking Authority - 180 jobs - London to Paris
  • Unilever - Announced new joint HQ in Amsterdam
Most of this comes from the Press Association.

You can dismiss this as a "few staff" if you like, but these are very well paid jobs, that would have been contributing a lot to HMT. Further, this is all happening before we actually leave. I also suspect that just like my own company, many others will have moved jobs out of the UK but tried to keep it from reaching the press under pressure to try and stay neutral in the debate.

To deny that this is having any sort of economic impact I think is a bit of a stretch. I think Col raises the more interesting (and to my mind appropriate) question however, as to whether those that voted to leave will actually care about this impact, or if it's seen as a price worth paying for regaining sovereignty. I guess time will tell!

That's a good British attitude you've got there Turkish. The French are renowned for making love not war. I know what I would rather do.

He does nothing but spout sh*t he can’t back up, and when people prove him wrong or call him out or write a reply to his Euro crap he either blocks you or slags you off, well I’m fed up of the twat calling me a blue sheep, a brexshi**er, and an idiot and slating the 17.4 million people who didn’t agree with him and voted leave.
He knows nothing and all he does is back his arguments up with abuse and arrogance, well I for one won’t take his sh*t, he doesn’t scare me ( and he has threatened me before on a post etc etc) anytime he wants if we ever me up I wont back down, the knob is an arrogant lying bully and I don’t do bullies.

Why the coward comments then about France?
Is that being a true Brit in 2019 ?
Agree you have also attacked the leaders of the EU but remember those leaders do have the full support of the member countries... it’s a united front something the U.K. could only dream of imo and making pointless jokes does what exactly?

Give us a post Brexit plan wherever it happens
Confident that will take place on the 29th of March now are you ?

Not sure that Turk bloke likes me much

It’s opinions nothing more to me but of course when things are posted that wind you up it’s natural to respond especially if the content of the post is something you feel passionately against

35 years plus of enjoying France is inside me
Watching my own country degrade also a massive driver. Blue Sheep I believe is a very good analogy simply because of the history on how the people has been misled over the last 20 years in the U.K. blue also meaning the Blair years as he was more or less a Tory anyway imo

Pretty sure anyone called anyone a name face to face there would be an incident so no biggy

Prefer people to be honest either way

Right I am going out to lunch with my Italian buddy today. He is over in the UK for a bit of work. It will be a Brexit free day although I am sure he will bring up what's happening in Italy. I don't think he particularly likes the EU and in the past has had a few words to say about them. It will be interesting getting a view from an EU national.

Before I leave, May has reiterated today that we will be leaving on March 29th... Watford get you £3 ready! :emoticon-0167-beer:
However I better watch out because they are twisting the words a bit. By that I mean they might extend but we would have left? <yikes> That even confused me.
