Just saw this on twatter, discuss: "As a side we were flowing at the start of the year, vibrant and potent. Minute Forshaw has got in the side its like someone slowly squeezing the handbreak" (sic)
His role is absolutely pivotal to how we play. Hence when we were 3/4 games into our winning streak some of us were sensing changes in the team dynamic due to his predilection to slow the tempo at certain times during matches. Ever since he signed last January though I believe him to be a quality player but days like today though make me reflect on that assessment. Perhaps it's as you alluded to previously that there is mental fatigue in certain players due to both the hectic schedule but also the responsibility they bear as important members and leaders amongst the squad.
Phew. Discussion over then. Nailed it Jammy, 100% my take. Like you, I thought he was very composed on the ball when he arrived, now I'm not so sure, and somebody needs to rotate him 90 degrees.
So just a quick question!!!! All players fit again, Philips or Forshaw in front of the back four? So where does Forshaw play, who you going to drop to put him in the team??
Nah, sorry OLOF a **** is nice He is a useless under achieving ****er, kind of kid in the school play ground who never had any mates and stood on his own.
To be honest, if Harrison's touch had been away from the covering defenders then it probably would have resulted in a red card being given. What the ref failed to understand is Harrison is left footed and therefore his first touch was perfect for him. VAR would almost certainly have turned it into a red.
He’s just a convenient scapegoat. Where might you apportion blame on him today? First goal? Only if you're Looking for it. 3rd goal, only if you’re looking for it. He started to come changed his mind... but hadn’t committed himself, so not really a big deal... he was back in his starting position by the time the header came. The header was from outside the 6 yard box and went right in the corner. Keepers don’t come for corners outside the 6 yard box in the modern game. Foreshaw messed up for the first, Jannson played a great near post flick on for the second and was outjumped for the third. I really rate Pontus at this level but he struggled against a big aggressive centre forward... not for the first time. The fourth I wouldn’t really blame anyone for... just stretched when chasing the game and a great finish.
I think it just goes to show what a critical position it is and how well Phillips has actually been playing it.
If Douglas had been taking corners and all the free kicks I am sure his stats would look a lot better but because Pablo takes them all it seems Douglas is having a lesser season Easy for me, the team that started the season against Derby, Phillips sitting in front of a back 4 dropping into the hole to make a back three when the full backs go forward. No place for Forshaw, a good all round substitute for Klich or Phillips, okay we have no Saiz but I am hoping we find a good replacement
