You could bet your mortgage had it been the other way round he'd have taken the "safe" option and sent a Leeds player off
The ref bottled it. Early in the game - 14 minutes in. Forest at home - big hostile crowd. Karanka's job on the line, he doesn't want blamed for getting him fired. He'd be ostracised by the Referee Mafia for doing Leeds a favour. Simples.
Somebody needs to have a word with this Kun T. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/01/...menuzhkov-spends-part-of-new-years-day-visit/
Roofe would have scored higher if he put one of his three chances away, missed two one on ones Clarke possibly a 8/10 Once again we wasted the first-half, what's that now.....12 of our last 15 goals scored in the 2nd half
You're 100% correct WJ. So the question is why wasn't a red card given ? As you say the referee and his assistant both saw it clearly and there was no doubt it was a foul and a card. My theory is, as the ball was off the ground when Harrison took a touch it created uncertainty in the ref's mind, he also had Pontus and other Leeds players screaming at him for a red. Referees do not like being told what to do and so quickly made his mind up it should be yellow not red. My amateur phycology leads me to believe his ego prevented him from producing the red card and in fact he seemed more interested in looking to book Leeds players for arguing. Part of being a professional footballer should be the awareness of how to man manage referees during those times of stress and give them the opportunity to think clearly and make the correct decision. It's an interesting debate as some teams seem to have no problems getting decisions in their favour whilst others (us) rarely do. Perhaps it's something that needs looking at in more detail to find out what does and doesn't influence referees and how to use it to our advantage.
I think this one might well have legs. I don't know him from Adam, but sent a Jock to Jock message to give him the lie of the land a couple of days ago. He's just replied with a 'thanks'. Could have simply ignored me, or said something like "Me go to Leeds????", but he didn't.
LOL. It's Ell's link, not mine. TBF, think it's one of these transfer links that gets updated hourly. The headline when he posted the link was " Motherwell youngster Stuart McKinstry close to Leeds United switch which could land Well windfall of around £400,000 for the 16yo winger".
It’s been updated again... The headline now reads ‘mckinstry pulls out of Leeds move after being stalked by Scottish Leeds fan’
it was a schoolboy error by forshaw he should have kicked the ball out of play when under pressure and we would not have been 1-0 down also the 2nd mistake was philips getting sent off , but before that nottingham forest brought down a leeds player being their last man nottingham forest should have been down to 10 men before leeds were , anyway leeds are still top and other results went our way , but i still feel we need at least 2 players in january transfer
Ah, so Forshaw's first name is Douglas, is it? I didn't know that. Douglas Forshaw - I like it. It has a certain ring to it!
Aha! You fell for it! I knew Sniff was a second account for someone, so I set a trap to draw you out! I'm tellin'!!
