    Though to mull over .....

    Roberts as the Saiz replacement?

2 games now he's come on in that role, and tbh, has fitted in rather well.

Been played in midfield earlier this season, but on the wing, and my criticism of him was that he didn't have the discipline to stay wide. Kept creeping into the middle. Perhaps he was trying to tell us something then ..... :D

Thing is the ref didn't want to give out red cards but unfortunately where Phillips was concerned he left him with no alternative.

Let's not try to hide behind refereeing decisions as overall he had a decent game for championship level.

    Interesting thought WJ.

Out wide he's certainly behind Clarke and also Harrison who I thought had a decent first half albeit without the end product.

I’m going to stick up for foreshaw. Hey someone’s got to. Not been at his best recently, made some costly errors. Sometimes he’s just a bit too casual in possession. But he’s a good footballer. I Get the ‘slows it down’ criticisms, but I’ve also seen him driving the team forward when we’ve been chasing games this season.

We dominate teams because of our set up and style but it requires good midfielders and if we’re dominating possession and chances it isn’t because we’re carrying a midfielder.

If you're hoping for any bias in our favour then perhaps you should lower your expectations.

You of all people should be accustomed to that.

No bias,it was a straight red,it's not his job to try and save on red cards,if he had done his job right we probably would have won, that doesn't excuse Philips, but poor officials cost us a goal and a 11 man Forest.**** happens but don't make excuses for their fook ups.

I like Roberts... also not sure where his best position is, but has a really good touch, good work ethic. No 10? Dunno if he has the vision and the experience for it, maybe he does... i’ll Leave that to mb.

Once again we dominate a game playing some lovely football, unfortunately our play was also littered with so many errors against a poor Forest team. After a joyous opening second-half period which sent the Leeds end into manic celebrations, at 1-2 I still felt Forest could stretch us & the possibility of tired legs kicking in may play a huge part on the outcome, sadly my fears came to fruition.

    Positives

    We played some lovely football.
Amazing comeback albeit the final result
Pablo Hernandez, we'd be lost without his quality
    Jack Clarke our young star
    The form of Alioski

    Negatives

    Phillips red card
Non-red card for the Forest defender who hauled Harrison down
    Adam 'friggin' Forshaw howlers
    Our defending
Ayling & Douglas very poor again
    Roofe's missed one-on-one chances
No Halme or Davis used when leading 1-2 to see out the game
No game-changer on the bench, nothing unusual this season

    Ratings

    5 - Peacock-Farrell
    4 - Ayling
    6 - Jansson
    1 - Phillips
    3 - Douglas
    2 - Forshaw
    6 - Klich
    7 - Hernandez (MOTM)
    7 - Alioski
    6 - Roofe
    7 - Clarke
    5 - Roberts

Given the surprises Bielsa's given us so far, he could be our next 'keeper! <whistle>

We would have all loved it to be red card as we'd probably have gone on to win the game.

Truth is it fell into the grey area of interpretation and referees shouldn't be handing out red cards unless there is certainty of mind. As I posted earlier VAR would almost certainly have advised the referee to take another look, probably resulting in the correct decision of a red card. Given how it looked at full speed, with covering players and the referees positioning I don't feel he could be certain so took the safe option of a yellow.

Bit harsh with some of the ratings, are you not? OK, the defence didn't exactly cover themselves in glory, but our attack scored 2 goals. Your ratings don't reflect that. Would your 'attack' ratings still be the same if we'd actually won 2-0?

There were no covering defenders. He had the opportunity to shoot from where he was, & they weren't in any way close. Definite red card as scoring opportunity prevented. No grey area whatsoever.

Got to say, both myself and son-in-law jumped straight up cheering of an easy to give straight red, we were amazed at the ref pulling out a yellow

Trying to see it from the referees perspective in real time.

With the benefit of replays it was a certain red card.

I am seeing it from his perspective! He's a professional in the football world & should know better. He also has an assistant to guide him, if need be. There's a simple decision-maker, and that is that at the point of impact, Harrison could have unleashed a shot. He was prevented from doing so. At best, the other defenders were as far up the park as he was, however they were several yards to his right. Now if these 'covering' defenders had legs 10 yards long, there might be an argument, but they haven't. Perhaps you need to look again & ask yourself what the 'covering' defenders would have been able to do at point of impact.
