And that's the most in the country for that level? What is Wessex League? Step 8? You wouldn't get too many people I know playing for £60 let alone reffing at that level.
That bonus is really bad PR and we shouldn't support payouts for people doing their job. By the way I wonder what Mark Hughes spent his £1m staying up bonus on.
I had a dream last night we lost 6-0 to Fulham, complete with a newspaper cutting of a chilling 'bottom 5' league table which just lingered, and I couldn't dispel. I believed it for a while, whilst in a half-awake torpor. I wonder what my subconsciousness is saying with about Hughes?
For Xmas every year my boss gets the lads a crate of beers each and takes us for a curry in town which he pays for. We feel appreciated and visa versa but end of the day it’s everyone doing the job we’re paid for. Anyone who expects or demands a mass bonus for simply doing what’s expected of them is a massive c*nt in my view.

I must admit, my feelings on this story have gone: 1. So what? Leader of PLC retires, that's life 2. Hmm, that is a lot 3. Actually, what are we rewarding him for doing his job - he gets an annual bonus anyway 4. HOW MUCH. 5. Surely that would be better reinvesting in the game 6. FFS, what a greedy B*******. Any normal nice person would either refuse it or give it back to the game that has served HIM well over the least 19 years. 7. What! the clubs that helped him earn the money are being forced to pay it 8. Can't believe that we live in a world like this Maybe I'm getting old.
9. Acceptance, we do live in a world like that - and I won’t be keeping myself up at night thinking about it.
Sorry to hear Fats that you only got the important email. Had my survey delivered personally by a saints player who was escorted to my house by a marching band. Unfortunately Shane Long missed the letterbox and it ended up down an alley at the side of the house.
Your choice and that’s part of how we got to this position in today’s world; too much acceptance. The man has done an excellent job on £900k a year and an annual bonus of £1.6m. It is almost the equivalent of slipping someone a brown envelope to make these new bonus payments. There is so much investment needed lower done the pyramid, which is what makes me find this action so bad. It’s appalling and I’d like to tell someone why I think that, so I have.

@fatletiss did Saints reply to you? This is apparently what a SW poster got back: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The decision around payments to Mr Scudamore over the next three years has been made by the Premier League Audit and Remuneration Committee and the Non-Executive Directors. As per the statement made by the Premier League the payments are in consideration of the following: It was vital that a comprehensive set of non-compete clauses were extended, to ensure the best possible protection for the future of the Premier League. It was agreed that it is crucial for the League’s ongoing success that Richard’s unique knowledge and experience remain available in an advisory capacity. The payments are in recognition of the outstanding work Richard has carried out over the last 19 years. We will not be adding anything further to this statement."
