Hate to be picky, but it's actually 7 points.

More important is that we're now 5 points above West Brom in 7th as the gap widens further.
The point I made a pigs ear of was that the League is very open .

I'm absolutely thrilled don't get me wrong but it's a bit early to get too excited.

It is a wide open league, but after 8 wins and a draw in the last 10 games to go top we're entitled to be a bit excited, but my focus is still on the play-off places.

Today's result also went a long way towards resolving fears that we could fall away after the cup loss.

Fair comment DD, but our current run of form is better than any of the other 91 teams (or whatever the number is) in the EFL and our only defeat in the last 10 games was Klose's unfortunate OG against Stoke. I think the main thing for me is that a player gets injured and his replacement can 'step up to the plate!!'.
DF is CERTAINLY building a winning squad - not just a team!!!

We started the season poorly but are now playing better, but we have to make the most of this spell because there's no way it's sustainable. Looking at the form table, over ten games we've performed so much better than anybody else it's silly. We have 25 points from a possible 30, nobody else has more than 19. Long may this continue, but hopefully when things get tough we'll maintain play-off form!

In terms of not getting carried away, 43 points was enough to avoid relegation last season, so 0.5 points a game for the rest of the season should see us safe. Above anything else, considering the fears we had as a community after selling Maddison, that's a phenomenal position to be in. I remember over the summer saying (probably not on here so I can't smugly quote myself...) that I thought Farke's team would eventually gel, but too late in the season for much more than a late play-off push. I still think it's amazing we're performing this well already.

It started when Boro thought they just had to turn up to go home with 3 points and everyone in the team seems to know their role within it and if we get an injury, the incoming player looks as though they've been playing there for weeks. As you say DH, our form over the last 10 games is unmatched, but I'm not 'counting my chickens' yet.

I've counted them, picked the plumpest and vindaloo'd the bugger! PL here we come!

Bah!

From the BBC report:
Leeds fourth away win of the season takes them to the summit of the table, leapfrogging previous leaders Norwich City on goal difference.

But that five different teams have topped the Championship in the past fortnight only emphasises how tight the division remains - and just five points separate the top eight.

Mine's still dining, free range on the allotment.
And will be for some time to come.

As is https://www.not606.com/threads/transfer-rumours-rubbish-january-2019.368700/page-2 post #21. <laugh>

Edit - I see MB and PD asked DF re renewing his contract, but he brushed it aside, by saying his focus is on today's game. I'm quietly confident that it will all be resolved early next year.
Also, can't see SW wanting to leave, now that his wife is on the NCFC Board. <ok>
