I think the Catholics are outbreeding the orangemen
It's only a matter of time
    Then it becomes Ireland's problem
There are plenty in Dublin who want nothing to do with the place and the drain on the coffers it will become

But they are entitled to call her names because they believe they are right and that telling them that it's take it or leave it was the right thing to do. I think that's the curious justification for all this jingoistic outrage. I don't recall any EU politician calling her a weak bitch but if I'm wrong on that no doubt Ellers will remind me who copied his choice of words for her.

Yeah sure. I look forward to you making good on that when they do get elected by not calling them every name under the sun.

How do they get the chance to vote for a united Ireland? Polling suggests that post-Brexit (if it happens) NI would be in favour of re-unification.

    Here's something you should watch.....

okay maybe you can enlighten me... when did the last UK Prime Minister ever act like that? When did you ever see Davis who was our negotiator act like that?
Truth is you didn't/won't. There is a certain etiquette that decent heads of states have (and don't act like muppets).
Anyone who believes the EU acted appropriately, really does need to think a bit harder.

Do you really give that much of a **** Ellers? Everyone has been slagging her, you more than most! Who cares if it's a head of state or another politician (even in her own ranks). Sometimes it's quite refreshing to hear people say what they think though hey? I personally couldn't give a flying **** who says what about her

Is it just Tusk's 'cherries' tweet that all the spluttering rage is about, or have I missed something? Admittedly it was a bit silly, but I wouldn't have said it was particularly important in the grand scheme of things.

Ellers are you seriously telling me that the political elite treat each other with respect and courtesy ?
If you think that then you’re as mad as a box of frogs.
I wasn’t just talking about the EU I was talking about ALL politicians...from all nations.....they are all a bunch of ****s.....ours included.

There is a code of diplomacy between nations, Bob. If you're about to declare war, then political leaders can send insulting tweets to other countries and call foreigners liars. But if you want a future relationship, abide by normal practices of civility among diplomats.

The tetchy responses that came from the EU do seem to be as a result of irritation at having to deal with Brexit, when the EU has so many other problems, particularly illegal immigration and the rise of the far right all across Europe. They see the UK as bailing out, even though the problems have to a substantial extent, been created by the EU itself by weak, unpragmatic and over-liberal policies.

Macron called the Brexit politicians 'liars'. Now I know you and many others will agree with that but you don't say it at the Brexit meeting with the British PM.

It appears whatever I say on this will fall on deaf ears so lets just agree to disagree. Let anarchy rule.

I not going to bother with them anymore. They really don't get it. Raab summed it up on Andrew Marr Show today. I will post what he said. He was spot on. maybe some on here should listen to what he says and take it on board

Yes, we know domestic politics can be pretty uncivil and the media can be as rude about foreign rulers as they like. But there is a code of etiquette between national leaders and their respective civil services, because if one leader insults another country's leader, they are insulting the whole of that country.

It was a silly tweet, Goldie. Nothing more. I sure as hell wasn't insulted by it and don't see why anyone else should be.

I never mentioned anything about May being a woman. I did say that she's been awful. I was referring to the disrespect of our PM.

    Presumably with a referendum.

I wouldn't expect you to be insulted by it, Strolls. You're a diehard Remainer and I'm surprised you're not complaining it wasn't stronger! But when an unelected EU bureaucrat sends out a humiliating, even mildly humiliating, tweet about a national leader, there will be consequences. I think the consequences will be that it has hardened attitudes with the UK against the EU. We'll see. It certainly doesn't help solve the knotty problems of Northern Ireland and future trade. May has no more compromises to make, so if the EU remains inflexible, there won't be a deal and it's then a case of managing the impact of transition to WTO

I do find it rather amusing that you of all people should criticise the "spluttering rage" when you have been crying your eyes out with indignant rage ever since we voted to leave,

A 'silly tweet like what Trump does but you all start moaning about that? "isn't that okay"? "Isn't that how they act"?
Quickly let's have a demonstration and fly a blimp!
    Double standards as per usual.
