I always wondered about the famous Wigan Casino , in my head they all had an evening of blackjack and roulette and then
cleared away the tables so they could do some strange dancing to obscure soul records

Onto the actual football there is no way we play 2 up front , probably Campbell by himself to be replaced by Martin
or maybe even the other way around . I expected Martin to be given longer on saturday and Campbell given more
of a rest considering the game tonight

Clearly Irvine is now one of our best players and has to be in the team barring injury or illness

Morning HT, your statement intrigued me, soon as I read it I smelled a rat. As much as I don’t just read this forum to contradict folk, with the aid of google and using Manchester as a benchmark for obvious reasons, Dunedin in NZ is furthest place away from Wigan you could be!
Sorry pal, 3.1 too
I didn’t mean philosophically. I wasn’t thinking of made up places or irrelevant ones outside these fair shores either.

Stewart should be nowhere near the team bus let alone the team sheet

100% agree (I know how we like our percentages.). He was absolute gash last Sat, that's when our midfield went awol when he came on. He's robbing a wage from City. He reminds me of U6 & U7s, who chase around the pitch towards the ball, but he doesn't do anything, doesn't challenge, no tackles, just watches from a safe distance.

I don't know what Adkins sees in him, but there was multi options to bring on instead. If Liverpool couldn't develop him, then we've no chance.

2-0 City.
Martin for Campbell
Irvine for Batty
Lichaj to right back Burke for Jordy.

I don't think Adkins does see anything in him really. He only plays him when desperate. Presumably he didn't see Irvine as someone who could sit in the deeper role for an hour or whatever it was, particularly when Henriksen is hardly an enforcer.

I agree...I think it's our main weaknesses this season! We just don't have any bite in the middle

Marshall
Burke De Wijs Elphick Lichaj
Henriksen Stewart
Bowen Irvine Kane
Dicko

My guess at what Nigel will go for

I have a much more important Arctic Monkeys gig in Sheffield to care about tomorrow night.

So I'll do a Happy and say a comfortable 4-0 victory awaits us.

Saw them on the first night at Manchester. You're in for a good night.

I don't think Adkins sees much in him to be honest. The fact he prefers Batty who had no first team experience prior to Brentford last season tells us quite a lot about how he feels about Stewart. But he does seem fixated on playing 2 fairly defensive midfielders (wrongly to my mind) and he's short of them. I really like Irvine but he's far more effective further up the pitch. And personally think the 'watches from a safe distance' often applies to Henriksen too.
