The kid is to play in our u23 development squad....not for 1st team duty now.

We are trying to grow our own talent...and develop players.

Wouldn’t it be confusing with two or three Toni Leistners in the team? Which one would be captain?

Eze signed a new 3 year deal. What with Lumley and Furlong and others extending their contracts these could be the most important deals we make.

QPR interested in Hefele and are set to sign Omar

QPR are interested in Huddersfield Town defender Michael Hefele and have agreed the signing of teenager Ali Omar.

German Hefele, 27, was signed from Dynamo Dresden in 2016 and has made 39 league appearances for Huddersfield.

Only two of those have come since the Yorkshire club were promoted to the Premier League in 2017.

As Hefele’s first-team prospects remain slim, Rangers have enquired about his availability.

They turned their attention to him after PSV Eindhoven made an approach to Trent Sainsbury, who had been lined up for a move to Loftus Road.

Meanwhile, defender Omar, 18, is set to join on a one-year deal and will initially play for QPR’s development side.

Omar, a free agent after rejecting a new contract at Stevenage, has been on trial with the R’s.

Queens Park Rangers are looking to bring Michael Hefele on board, with the Huddersfield Town outcast on Steve McClaren’s radar.

According to HITC Sport, McClaren is desperate to bolster his defensive options at this late stage of the window, with QPR contacting Huddersfield over the availability of Hefele.

The German centre-back has previously impressed in the Sky Bet Championship, when he helped the Terriers to promotion during the 2016/17 campaign.

During that campaign, which was his first in English football, Hefele stood out for Huddersfield, who under David Wagner, won promotion to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old made 40 league appearances for the Terriers, scoring three goals for the West Yorkshire outfit.

However, following that promotion, Hefele found himself cast aside, with Wagner turning to other options in the Premier League.

Hefele made just six appearances across all competitions, with only two of those appearances coming in the Premier League, as Huddersfield battled for survival.

QPR are open to taking Hefele either on-loan or in a permanent deal, as they press on with their business ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

    The Verdict

Hefele would be a strong addition to McClaren’s squad, which at this current time, looks weak.

The defender finds himself on the fringe at Huddersfield, but back in the Championship, he will be at his most comfortable level.

If QPR can get this over the line, their supporters should be delighted.

All smacks of desperation which then hikes the price up and then we won't afford it.
    Not great.

It’s gotta be a worry that after only five games and an injury Old Island Hair didn’t see enough desire, ability or both during pre-season. If that’s true: offload. Why fart about with loans?

Given the money Middlesbrough have just received for Traore and Gibson, they should be increasing their offer for Freeman. Don't see the sense in loaning out Wheeler if Freeman may be on his way. Where is Shadipo these days?

    Re. Connor Washington...

Assuming it’s reasonable that fitness levels shouldn’t be the issue, why hasn’t Sir Les et al: (a) worked on his physical presence - bulk the prick up some more, and (b) told him to get a shot off every time he’s given the ball in and around the box?

Personally, I don’t care if 19 times out of 20 he slams the ball into an opponent’s face or goolies. Sooner or later they’ll get the hint and get outta the way.

He might even surprise us (and himself) and score a goal sometime.
