    He was superb in one of the best series of the 70's - Secret Army, proper telly.

    Some actors are lucky enough to star in one classic, some evenmlucky enoughnto star inntow. Ge starred in a string of them. Which wasn't down to luck.Superb in Colditz and one of my all time favourites, Secret Army. Also in a brilliant comedy in the,early 1970s, The Organisation, whichnall of uscat work at that time never missed. Sadly none of it seems to have survived, possibly because the head of the TV company which produced it later found out him and his staff were what they based it on.
