I know bike racing's a dangerous pursuit but that family's had more than its fair share of tragedy.

His wife is expecting as well, which is why he withdrew from the TT.

Very sad.

A great and underrated talent.

Expect, like with Dave Mackay, a proper reassessment of his ability only after death.

I didn't underrate him. Always enjoyed watching him on TV.

Anyone who didn't rate Mackay knew nothing about football.
