Maguire has quadrupled in price over a year, that shows us how Ehab has cocked it up and how bad some of the big boys scouting networks are. We should have had 25 million minimum for Maguire plus the 6-7 million sell on.
I’m pleased for him. Can’t fault a bloke for wanting to do the best he can for himself. Great player for us
If he goes for the rumoured price and the 15% clause is accurate that's £27m total we've made off him. He'd played one full season in three years and had one year left on his contract. I don't think we've done badly at all. If he'd have played more we might have taken the full £65m for ourselves, for some reason he didn't, so we didn't. Sheffield let him leave for £2.5m after playing over 100 games and knowing full well just how good he was, now that really is mental.
As I think it was OLM said? Leicester were expecting to pay a lot more. They should have paid a lot more and we could still have had the sell on. So, whilst we’ve done ok, we could have done a hell of a lot better - probably to the tune of £10m. That’s before you even get onto Robertson.
The quoted Robertson fee seemed stupidly low, but then again most at the time didn't think it was all that bad because 90% of this forum didn't even think he was good enough for us. I don't see how he was worth so much more at that time. He'd played one premier league season and looked promising yet committed his fair share of howlers, one year left on his contract and we'd just been relegated. Keane was better than Maguire that season and had 3 or 4 years of contract and he went for what most people think Harry should have gone for. The summer before Boro were trying to sign him for £5m - £8m and half this forum offered to drive him there themselves, because we had Junior who was clearly miles better.
Maguire is a ball playing centre half that makes Keane look like a Sunday league player. He’s been arguably the best centre half at the World Cup and better in my opinion than Stones. It’s a shame he didn’t get the recognition at City as anyone with a pair of eyes could see exactly what he was capable of.
Every time I saw Harry for Leicester he made a cock up. He's a lovely bloke and a crowd pleaser but he isn't all that. He'll look heroic etc etc I Remember mark wright looking like a World beater coming back form a World Cup after playing in a World Cup and was a huge disappointment.
the stones who was in the right position and then harry let the croatian move behind stones without staying with him
Maguire is over rated imo Few times he misjudged the ball and let it past him in the world cup Got lots of mistakes in him He's not going to be at the level of a varane Fair play to him if he gets the man united position
All footballers make mistakes. Kane had some very bad shots. Luckily, it's a team game and it's what happens over 90 minutes. It's always easier to sit in the stand and spot the mistakes than to make sure they don't happen when you are on the pitch and have to be aware of the opposing players and your team mates at all times.
