Can anyone explain why this is seen as a 'tragedy'?
One horse dies, it's a tragedy.
Millions of cows, sheep, pigs, and all sorts of other animals are slaughtered every single day and it's ok.

Yes, it's sad that an animal has unnecessarily died in the name of 'sport', for man's entertainment, but ffs are people genuinely so thick and brainwashed that they can't join up the dots?

I can understand that the death of a great racehorse might be perceived as 'tragic' within the context of the sport of racing, but otherwise people are very sensitive when it comes to things that are cute and furry (not including myself).

Vegetarians and vegans really are a disease.

Funny isn't it. I start a threat about a ridiculous media statement, and then lerds feel the need to somehow transform it into an attack on vegans!!
Raw nerve.
God there's some ****e written above:
Cats play with mice and birds ... so it's ok then. Point proven eh! .
Need to eat animals to get B12?!! Where do animals get it from?
Incisors? Compare our teeth with that of a true meat eating animal and you'll see what meat eating incisors look like. Ours are for puncturing / coping with fruit (not mentioned either the way our jaws move being completely different to that of flesh eating animals). .
IF we came from apes?
Chimps (and others mentioned) are omnivores - yes some are occasionally known to eat certain other animals or insects, but are primarily designed and do eat fruit. They certainly don't breed meat for their pleasure and consumption, they don't separate young at birth, they don't castrate / perpetually impregnate / brand / debeek / ......, and they don't send fellow animals in holocaust trucks to be hung upside down and chainsawed in a slaughter house.
etc etc
Most of you know deep down what is right and wrong.
Ciao. .

Talking of B12...

why don't we eat insects?
they are pretty much the healthiest of the meats

red meat is one of the biggest causes of heart problems

To get the same beneficial nutrients as are in a 6 oz steak you'd need to eat around 15,000 flies or 90,000 ants.
I can imagine the missus saying to me "Just off down to the local rubbish tip to catch dinner luv. I'll be back in about a week".

bullshit
a portion of crickets has more iron and other nutrients than a peice of steak as well as zinc and magnesium and protein

Buddy Holly will be rolling in his grave if he heard that.

it's true

a portion of crickets has all the nutrition a human needs without the fat that a steak gives

and it's more enviromentally friendly than typical meat, cattle needs so much more food to live, compared to 100grams of crickets which provides all a human needs health wise

we should be eating insects

insects take days to be ready and are a massively more populated

but instead humans only want taste

steak and red meat is one of the leading factors in heart problems in humans, a diet in fish or vegan has a way way less chance of heart problems

eat insects, it sounds yucky but they have more protein and nutrients than a peice of steak have by far
**** humans

Owzat...I'm bowled over by your superior knowledge.
However, I think I'll stick to bird's nest soup, expensive though it may be :emoticon-0100-smile
