Would be really pleased if we can keep a clean sheet today, we've been pretty leaky against average opposition so far. I just don't see a 4-1-4-1 offering enough defensive cover.
PD reporting that right side is fluid as expected. Marshall looking to drop into RB to allow Passlack to burst forward.
Comment from PD on match coverage - Expects to see Rhodes and or Pukki second half. By the time we get to Charlton, I think the pecking order will be very clear to all.
Robin Sainty@RobinNCST Pretty impressive 45 from City. Well organised defensively, high workrate and, crucially, moving the ball through midfield much quicker than last season. If you liked Reed you'll love Passlack, who's like a Duracell bunny. Decent showing from Stiepermann in CMF too.
PD's guess at our starting XI for the first game of the season is interesting: Matthews, Hanley, Zimmermann, Klose, Passlack, Stiepermann, Trybull, Leitner, McLean, Pukki, Rhodes. Not sure what I think of that. 3 ATB seems to be secondary to 4-1-4-1 in pre-season, and Stipermann has been playing well in central midfield, whilst that lineup moves him to LWB. Equally, Husband is crap and Lewis injured.
What about 1-3 to Sunderland and 4-0 at Millwall? Expectations, Expectations, Expectations! It was actually McGovern in goal for the full 90 minutes.
Would you like me to list all the clean sheets Gunn kept ? It seems odd that you list Millwall and Sunderland . Rusty ended his career at Millwall.
My point was that our defence struggled in the early season so Gunn struggled. After Hanley came in things improved, but not enough overall. A GK depends on the defence and vice versa. It's about the team, not individuals.
