And on the RARE occasion when DF did play a 2nd striker, Josh was played there and it lessened Josh's effectiveness and did zilch to help Basil.
From DDF at today's presser - 'Rhodes taking a pay cut to be here as one of players who wants to be at #NCFC'
Good line from Webber, #NCFC will attack the Barclay second half where possible at Carrow Rd this season so that fans can play a part in driving the team forwards in home games.
Instead of just sitting here and being paid his full salary - as he was entitled to do - didn't Naismith take a 25% cut in salary to facilitate his latest loan move or was that just a rumour I read somewhere?
Yeah, and he took a work-rate cut to match it Anyway, all water under the bridge. Well, 25% water under the bridge.
I couldn't find a source for his 25% pay cut but don't doubt he took one. From £50k plus a week he is still doing ok out of us . http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/city-could-decide-to-cut-losses-1-5001492 'Sporting director Stuart Webber is determined to trim the wage bill at Carrow Road and with Steven Naismith earning in excess of £50,000 a week, there is a big saving to be made.'
Fair enough DD, but that article is from August 2017, so not a recent development as I first thought.
Nobody really knew how much Naismith was on and whenever I posted Naismith is on about £40k a week that figure was called an exaggeration. The EDP seem to think it's North of £50k which seems mental for his age and contribution. His agent must laugh his head off on a daily basis at our Jack and the beanstalkesque negotiating team.
I've always worked on £40 k - which in itself is insanity personified. Anything north of that is sheer lunacy!!
Well DD, looks like we'll just have to have 2 free pints at stake - both Marriott and Rhodes are 1-10 to score more than 10 in the Championship this season.
Remind me again it's total goals scored in all competitions at the end of the season ? If Rhodes outscores Marriott I will happily buy you a beer or two Alek.
