We'd probably have commanded a lot more if we weren't in league one. Just the way it is, not Donald's fault.
Bit pointless debating it anyway because it hasn't happened yet and I think we all know not to believe everything that's reported in the papers. When and if he goes, and we know for how much and what the add ons are etc then it'll be worth talking about. I don't see the point in looking to **** on the club for something which hasn't even happened.
Wasn’t he meant to be giving an interview today about sales and signings? No, todays Wednesday, what a bastard I thought I was off for 4 days but I’ve another day yet. **** life....
Let me know if you're selling anything nice. I'll come round and tell you I'll only pay way less because you live in one of the poorest regions in the country, regardless of your wealth. It's exactly the same logic and it's daft logic imo. Nah, sick of this excuse, it's bollocks cause we don't need to sell. Our financial situation is not consistent with the rest of the league so that excuse doesn't carry an ounce of weight with me. Just another soft as **** excuse imo.
I don’t get paid till next week and just had to shell out for a massive boiler repair, you wanna buy my car for £8?
Circumstances don’t lower valuation, desperation does. My concern is we are desperate for short term cash, already.
From yesterday. Share value gone up to £152m please log in to view this image The financial savy on twitter estimate it to be around a £51m cash injection
That will be the man mate. We're sweet for couple of years by which point the wage bill and outstanding transfer payments will be done and dusted.
Yeah, but Grealish and Maddison have u21 caps for England and Paddy's are for Northern Ireland. England has a population of 54 million, Northern Ireland has a population of 2 million. Therefore, statistically speaking, it's easier for McNair to win international caps. In reality, caps mean nothing and have no bearing on his transfer market value. What is probably keeping McNair' s value low is that he's only played 28 games over the last two seasons and was only really a star performer in a handful of games last season. He's previously been compared to Britt Assombalonga (for example) on this thread but in the season before his 6.9 million quid move from League 1 (Peterborough) he played 58 games over the course of 1 season and was consistently one of their better players. Therefore, any prospective purchasers will be looking at McNair on the basis of his potential rather than on the solid evidence of a stand out season (as was the case with Assombalonga). An investment in McNair therefore arguably represents a greater risk (Of course there is a risk in signing any player) than a player who has demonstrated a consistently high level over the course of at least one season and therefore why his value isn't as great as a player such as Assombalonga.
If I'm working and have plenty of money coming in then you pay full price for my stuff. If I'm not, I have a house full of assets and I need money for rent then I'll take a cut down price. The latter is closer to our situation than the former, or if it isn't then at least it explains the logic well enough.
Makes the Paddy fee even more baffling, given we are likely to see attractive fees for Khazri, Kone and Djib.
True mate, true. If it’s £5million with same again in add-ons, then ok. Or maybe a player (Leadbitter) our way. Will hopefully become clear tomorrow.
Disagree. You're in a differant world to me mate. I live in a world where we've been told that's not the case and a one where we've just had another massive cash injection. We don't need the money so full price for me ta.
If we really don't need the money then yeah a straight 5 mil isn't a good deal for him. However that's all hypothetical because we don't know that's what the deal is.
