The Mail reports that the Seagulls are in discussions over a £7 million deal that would see the 23-year-old return to the top flight. McNair has experienced back to back relegations with the Black Cats, but was undoubtedly one of their most impressive performers this past season in the Championship. please log in to view this image The former Manchester United trainee scored four goals in just 16 league appearances for Sunderland as injury played a key role in his campaign. Four goals in his final seven appearances painfully hinted that the club may have perhaps stood a much better chance of staying up had McNair been fit for the entirety of the season. The Mail's live transfer feed (09/06; 12:27) reports that Brighton are discussing a £7 million move for McNair, but Wolves are monitoring the situation, as are Fulham and Derby County. please log in to view this image Report: Rangers still watching international winger; Sunderland and Karanka also keen Nuno Espirito Santo's men are preparing for life in the top flight after running away with the Championship title this past season. Their midfield was a key reason for their success, with Ruben Neves in particular proving to be a sensational signing for the Molineux outfit. Despite their star power in the middle of the park, McNair would arguably be a very good addition to their ranks given his ability to play in midfield or in defence. But it appears that they may have to move quickly with Chris Hughton looking to bring the Northern Ireland international to Brighton.
Ifr wolves want him we should be quoting £15m+ cause those lot are seriously mental when it comes to paying over the odds.
Must admit if it's Wolves I'd be fuming if we sold him for less that 10-12 and I'm one of the more pessimistic ones.
According to Paul Fraser in the northern echo, were asking fir £7m for him http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sp..._want___7m_for_McNair_as_Wolves_prepare_move/ SUNDERLAND are demanding £7m for Paddy McNair after Premier League new boys Wolverhampton Wanderers entered the battle for the midfielder’s signature. Wolves, fresh from winning the Championship, are looking to boost Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad and the Black Cats man is on the radar. Brighton and a host of Championship clubs have also expressed an interest in McNair but as of yet there are no offers to tempt a sale. Sunderland’s owner Stewart Donald admitted last week that there had been other bids on the table for McNair, with some more than the £3.5m Brighton tabled.
Can't wait for SD response. My guess is he's yet to put a price on him as he hasn't asked to leave yet .
Agreed - Stewart Donald has only just accept my request to follow him so all good! be interesting to see how this one pans out. My guess is that Fraser has absolutely no idea and just plucked a number from the air
We should hold out for £12million minimum. It’s a record for League One but the lad is not a League One player. He still hasn’t asked to leave and of course him staying would be massive he could dominate that league. If the owners have the financing sorted with the Uruguayan let’s keep the lad at least till Christmas. If he stayed and captained us back to the Premier League he’d be a club legend at a club far bigger than any linked, he might fancy that. It’s just we are at such a low level to keep such a genuinely quality footballer, we’d have to accept the request to go as no disrespect to the club from the lad, but if it comes, no ****kng about a proper fee. Far, far inferior players have gone for way north or £10million.
What did that ****heap McCormack go for? Think he's still over here... The Melbourne News talks about him like he ****ing invented the game.
Yeah when he flopped there and couldn't get to training for three days because "His front gate was broken"... Bruce sent him packing to over here. He scored a few free kicks in league two standard football and they acted like he was Pele.
It’s a shame how his careers gone mate cos he’s a lovely footballer. I’ve championed him for us many times, we’ve nearly signed him twice. Lots of ability but evidently a knobhead.
Thanks for your kind words Les. Sometimes simplicity is best I feel. I’d still take him now mind he’d mince League One!
Alan nixon tweet...... “MIDDLESBROUGH. In the hunt for McNair at Sunderland now ... Brighton arguing over payment plan for him ... need a sale ... bit in paper“
Getting better, more teams in for him drive the price up Sad thing is looks like he almost certainly won’t be playing for us nxt season.
