It makes a difference if you have met people on here, in real life. Everyone I’ve met through this site have been sound and great for going for a beer with. Inevitably it never comes across as well online; which might put people who can’t make the matches, from perservering.

I went to the Brixton Memorial match against brum a few years back, bringing my Arsenal supporting youngest brother ; when a large group of the Not606 contingent attended
It was very nice to put faces to the (user) names and I enjoyed the day immensely. My brother was pleasantly surprised at the comraderie amongst people who had mostly never met before
Same as the spirit for the Wembley play off final when the good side of this small community stepped up and helped each other
Now I am outside the UK a lot, not been back these past 3 years and am spending more time in Lebanon. Thus this forum has become a little piece of me that I tune into 2 or 3 times a week. Lord knows what I would do without it

I recall some posters explaining that they have been "locked-out" by the system for several years. Could this be the cause of some posters going "missing"?
If so, is there a system to get back in?
For example, would it make sense to put up a "sticky" with some info (e.g. a mod e-mail address that could be specially created for this purpose) for them to mail to inform that they have been locked out?
It could also be used if there are difficulties in registering for the first time
It this phenomenon of "system lock-outs" is real, then it may be worth a try?

Usually, the first post is the most difficult and stressfull, but the reception from this forum is always extremely warm. Also, I still believe that this forum is generally very open and respectful, especially on footy matters. Certainly in 5 years of posting I do not recall having an issue and being personally offended by anyone, even when we disagree or have different opinions. Possibly as my objective is not to go out and to "pick a fight".

There’s a small group of posters on here that can help you join the various cliques, but they’re a select elitist bunch.
If you need to ask who they are, they won't let you in...
Are you sure you are not thinking of "strikers"?
They are the ones we need to encourage to "come out".

I’m not a big poster on here, however, I’ve been involved since before 909 and continue to look at most threads daily. Very rarely do I comment, mainly because I doubt my views are particularly valid and also, because I don’t go to many games anymore (work, family like a lot of people).
What I enjoy most are the off thread topics, what really intrigues me is the fact that there are so many different points of view regarding every aspect of life but we all have something massive in common.
I feel there are many posters I’d love to share a beer with, Stan (Graham) in particular, Beth, Col, many, many others, whether my views or theirs differ is immaterial, we all love QPR and that, for me, supersedes any difference we may have, but would definitely make for an interesting hour before a game.
As it happens, I almost took my son (5 years old, conceived the day we signed Joey Barton, honestly) to HQ for his first game today but other issues (a charity night) mean’t we’ll have to wait to next season..
I have high hopes (like every pre-season) for 2019 and I hope most posters are still here, regardless of whether I agree with their views, to see us going forward and I hope my (soon to be 6 year old) will get the opportunity to go to Loftus Road next year and he gets the bug I got in the late 80’s that makes me one of you all today.

I was very fortunate to meet up with many posters who post on here and used to post on here today ( We went to at least five pubs following today's game( I'm surprised that I can type anything coherently). I've also bumped into posters from other sites who were all in good spirits and have all renewed their season tickets for next season. Onwards and upwards ... UR'sss!
