Went mountain biking there a few years ago for a couple of days. 'Special' berfday present. Twas mint. Only got one day in 'proper' Bilbao. Caught the train out to the port area at the coast, which was an event in itself. About 3 stops from Bilbao all these 'dockers' got on and it was a ****ing raucous sing along. Brilliant. No sooner had it started, it stopped as they got off en masse. Had a wander around the port area, went over the transporter bridge and found out I suffered from vertigo. Promptly shat my pants going across. Then back to Bilbao. Saw them beat Sociedad (2-0 or 2-1 can't remember) then away on the Monday. Bus back to the airport cuts through the city and it looks a fair place. On the tick list to do some time.
I went to Raithwaite Hall, on the outskirts of Whitby, it’s a luxury spa place. We went specifically to do a load of walking and swimming and to chill with a massage etc. It’s walking distance from the centre of town and it’s very nice, but not cheap, it’s £250-300 a night and treatments are on top (you can get deals on it though, I paid nearer £300 for two nights). We decided next time we go, we’re going to stay in the centre of town, at The Marine. It’s only got seven rooms, so you’ve got to plan the trip well ahead, particularly if you want Room 1 (the best room), I just looked and the first weekend available is late August (rooms are £100-200 a night).
My late wife’s sister just rang me and said her son in Australia is buying her and husband flights to visit family in May/June and can I take them to Manchester airport. Trouble is, I’m having a total knee replacement later this month and just under 6 weeks before they fly. Anyone had TKR and how long before ok to drive?
Usually about a month if nothing goes wrong. My mum was about six weeks out after a hip replacement, which usually takes a little longer.
Goole is where it's at With Goole being half-way to youngest lads home we met at Glews garage to pick up and drop off granddaughter every week. Why go abroad when you got that on your door step you posing bastards. The McDonalds there is mint anarl.
This may help. https://www.arthritis-health.com/surgery/knee-surgery/total-knee-replacement-surgery-recovery Presumably if you're reasonably healthy and done pre- and post- physio to maintain your muscle bulk you may just be able to drive. If the op is on your left knee, renting an automatic car for the day would eliminate having to use a clutch, so may be less of a problem. Good luck with the procedure.
I had an ACL reconstruction week last Tuesday , been told 6 weeks before I can drive. It’s still sore as hell.
She’s had hip replacement and he’s had a stroke so both have walking problems and not getting any younger. They’ve had to cancel going to Australia twice as he had to go into hospital both times just when due to travel, so want to help them as much as possible.
Good luck getting back to normal. I had my first (of 5) operations on my left knee on my 21st birthday, unfortunately they didn’t repair cruciate ligaments then so always dodgy thereafter and hence problems now, especially as kept playing football for long time.
I'm taking my mum and daughter to Manchester Airport tonight at 1.00 in the morning.Just hope the weather is o.k. I'm keeping cool about it outwardly but feel a little apprehensive. Any tips Ernie?
We can't say too much 'cos of the no politics, ta rule but, yes probably... Or shape shifting aliens. We don't know what's out there Chazz. We don't know what's out there.
