Last week find out my annual work jolly to Vegas is cancelled due to the conference not happening this year = Misery. This week - another conference organised to fill the void so now desperately trying to figure out how to fit in with another trip I had decided to do instead = Potential happiness. I love Vegas me. 4 days max though, longer than that and it kills you unless you're there with the missus taking it somewhat "easy".
I’m buggering off tomorrow to Austria for a week with the lads snowboarding (after spending 3 days away with work in Newcastle and getting back last night) Beer will be drunk...honey bourbon will be drunk (drink of choice for a hip flask I’ll take up the mountains)...Jaegermeister will be drunk (probably...I don’t even like it much but I’m weak)
Where you staying ? Innsbruch ? Love that town. If you are , see if you can spot a bierkeller called "das Goldenes Dachl" (translation "The Golden Roof"). My first real serious piss-up in there in 1960 on a school trip (15 years old). That was the start of the rot and a life long love of beer. Have a good trip dennis, you lucky bugger. Edit: The main brew I remember was Gosser. Oh and Zipfer beer.
Going to New York on Tuesday....Just looked on the WABC weather cast.. Pissing down and snowing on Wednesday, Thursday..slight improvement on Friday For **** sake...
Fly into Innsbruck but staying in Mayrhofen...mostly drink Zillertal Marzen in Moes I’ll keep my eye out for your old haunts on the transfer though
Taking big huge parka...Trappers fur hat....Scarf...gloves..Thick Boots... And that's going to Manchester airport... Last time I went to the US at this time of the year it was warm as toast...There again I was on the west coast....Global warming
Been to Austria loads of times. Summer & Winter I know exactly what the beers like 5.1%. Clean, fresh, drinkable, gets you pissed...but doesn’t give you a hangover! (Or doesn’t me anyway) The problem is if I hit the spirits really...which I will
Safe journey you guys, love traveling home or abroad, do a lot by coach which a lot of people won't even consider but it suits me and mrs. Done Spain, France and Italy by coach and loved every minute, the hassle of airports gets to be a bind, Las Vegas immigration was a nightmare when last there. Been away the last four weekends, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Coventry, Litchfield, and Bruges, weather crap for the most part but it is winter after all.
In comparison, I'm off to Whitby with the lass next weekend Though we are off to New York in November.
Planning our next trip in January next year at this very moment (well once i have read Not606). The itinerary so far is Hawaii for a few days (only because its en route) then off to Washington DC and the places around, as we have never been there. From there we fly down to Florida (Once again !!) with a few days on Anna Maria island followed by the villa at Kissimmee (Highway 27 actually), then LA (probably Santa Monica) for a few days (Again only because its part of the journey). Not sure where to book to stay at Hawaii or Washington as that will be booked once the flights are sorted. If anyone has any suggestions for Hawaii or Washington they will be gratefully received
