I’m not sure how Hoddle would go down with the fans, with his past history... he is a good tatician, and does bring through youth though. I would probably prefer him to Hughes actually.
From a fishy source?

It's a safe appointment but a good one IMO. We can't afford to take a risk with this one and we're not. He's not everyones cup of tea but he has a strong personality and that's what we need.Appointment of Mark Hughes expected within the next 24 hours.

De Boer? Hell no.... was listening to talkSport on way in to work this morning ... Ray Parlour was advocating Mark Hughes ... have to admit that the thought of Mark Hughes coming in to my own club would have just about tipped me over the edge ... irrespective of how dire the club's situation was ...
... if it was me ... and looking at the realistic / available candidates... I'd be favouring Silva or de Boer ... the former has shown that he can have an impact and play attractive football, the latter I don't think had a fair crack of the whip at Palace although 'hitting the ground running' given his time there, might be problematic ...
... but then you would be stuck with him until you eventually become like Stoke![]()
He’s kept us up mate, Hughes got canned from Stoke for leaving them in the relegation zone.Big Sam?
Really?

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the conflict between him and MLT when they played together for Saints. MLT was sent on as a sub resulting in Hughes rushing across to the bench and yelling ‘f**** hell, now you want us to play with 10 men...’Why are a lot of people against Hughes?

Will never forgive him for that and will not welcome him back (he hated his time here as a player) but my support for the team will be beyond question. Anyone who thinks he did a good job at Stoke - can you remind me about their silverware or European tours? Four years of mid table mediocrity.
