It's the January transfer thread ... it's not just about the obvious power shift in Manchester ...
If I argue against this are you going to do a leaving thread?

What if we’d had Puel from the start? Can’t really claim that about Everton when we had a **** start and have been fast improving under the new manager. Anyway this Mahrez stuff is **** timing, really fancied us for a win at Everton tonight before this and with Arsenal’s defeat would have closed the gap to 5 points but with all the drama I’d take a point gladly nowWith exactly the same number points as Burnley, nearly double figures behind the top 6 and an improving Everton who would have been above them if Allardyce was there from the start. None of them are realistic challengers to the top 6 at this moment in time.
That’s exactly what our chairman is doing turning down bidsThat's all fair points, but I'd counter that with if these guys improve to the level you're hoping for, which should surely be top 4 quality. If one of the Manchester clubs come calling, and they will, what can you do about it?
To crack the top 6, you need a chairman that is going to turn down 80 million pound offers for your top players but also spend a good 150 million on quality, quality players that can help bring the youth on.
Kante had a release clause so couldn’t do anything (he managed to get a hell of a lot more money than the £20mill if it was a CL team) and Drinkwater we replaced him with 2 better players who cost less combined due to a lack of PL and English ‘tax’. This is the first real test to be able to make those kind of judgements. I thought Sunderland fans would relate to our size clubs more than to be crowing about us potentially losing a key player to a big money side. Like the closed shop of the ‘sky 6’ do you?Shame that a team like Leicester can win the league and still be disrespected by so many of the players who achieved it
Don't give me all that everyone's against you bollocks.
How do you think the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and even Spurs to a lesser degree got the reputation of being big clubs in the PL. it wasn't a tag they earnt overnight, it took years to establish that status.
Chelsea and City obviously had huge outside investment to get to where they are, but none of the others did.
You had made it, but your owners showed a lack of ambition to maintain Leicester as a force in the Premier league. You were blessed with an opportunity that any supporter of a club in England outside of the top 6 would shoot their kid for, and you blew it.
Never doubted it would, just saying it’s a shame and one of the problems with footballTold you this would happen ages ago.
... as long as we are the only credible challenge to the established 'big six' ... which we currently are ... Wouldn't you agree ?
The same season you won the league, Saints were challenging the top 6. But we kept selling our best players, and now look at us.
If you think City and Pep take the piss, have a look at how many ex Saints players are in that ****ing Liverpool squad.
It's all ****ed. The game's rotten.
Ahem. We actually finished in the top 6, just 3 points behind 4th.
Leicester City EPL Title winners ... get it right ... let's face it ... every fan of every club outside of United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal would give their left bollock to have done what we did ... and to be where we are now ...
They didn't make it at all, they had the perfect storm. I don't see what else the owners could have done, they bumped their big players on to 100k plus and spent a considerable amount of money in the transfer window.
What exactly are people suggesting they did? Start buying players for £50m and offering 200k a week?
Not really...like I told you yesterday...your still a small club...I like the journey my club is on..you shove your league title up your arse and my balls have got a better use than to be sold off for a trophy.

it's about the 'Spurs journey' (although Kyle Walker obviously got travel sick) .. we're a small club that's won something very recently ... you are also a small cub in relative terms to the really big clubs .. that hasn't won anything recently ... and certainly won't be winning the 'big one' for some time
Yup.....Fosse always going on about how the owners a billionaires. That's exactly what they should be doing. You expect Spurs to ****ing do it...even when it's common knowledge that we have to muster up just shy of a Billion quid for our brand spanker.

You might not enjoy the journey your club is on quite as much if your coach and your striker get lured away in the summer.
I actually hope they don't btw, but don't assume your position is any less precarious than the rest of us, when the really big cheque books start getting waved about.
If I argue against this are you going to do a leaving thread?

Our owners are doing fine ... we've quoted City £90 mill and they got a deal.... balls in their court ... as for the brand spanker ... plenty of clubs doing that ... doesn't guarantee success (and you're having difficulty filling Wembley) ... let's hope the stands at the new stadium don't stay as empty as the trophy cabinet eh?![]()
I didn't assume that...but I'm actually enjoying my club and the way it is progressing and if we sell them...I'm sure we will spend big to replace, ultimately anyone we purchase will be a downgrade on arguably the best striker in the world plus Harry Kane is going no where this summer.
