Kane is undoubtedly one of the world’s top strikers - arguably the best - the figures give him that accolade at the moment.

The new stadium should bring more revenue and should hopefully enable us to be more competitive in the transfer and wages depts.

None of us is ever going to compete with the likes of the oil state financed City. That’s just reality. A not very palatable one, but reality nonetheless.

I've never said I expect you to do it, just that if you don't you can expect to lose players that's all.

I'd never expect clubs to not live within their means, been there and done that. Not nice.

That goes for everyone...I don't think any Spurs fan has pretended that we have a bottomless pit of money. It will be a sad day for the small clubs if we do start to lose our players to the clubs who don't have to bother with financial spreadsheets because if we can lose them then they will have no chance ever of keeping their players and cracking the cartel consistently like we do.

You need to make your mind up you're either a snotty ****er of a fan or a grounded one so I can abuse you accordingly

I'm a veteran kind of fan ... have accepted the reality of our position in the footballing pyramid for over 50 years ... suffice to say I'm very happy with the direction in which our position is moving on all fronts now ... pissed off with timing of City's approach and Mahrez's reaction, as we were in fine form, and it's the last thing we needed ... but we have great strength in depth and we have quite a few alternatives if he goes ..<ok>

I didn't assume that...but I'm actually enjoying my club and the way it is progressing and if we sell them...I'm sure we will spend big to replace, ultimately anyone we purchase will be a downgrade on arguably the best striker in the world plus Harry Kane is going no where this summer.

If I was a Spurs fan I would feel the same. You should enjoy this run while you can.

I think you're already beginning to experience the glass ceiling though. The next two seasons will decide your club's future, whether you will permanently compete with Arsenal as regular fixtures in the CL and occasional trophy winners, or whether you slide back down to obscurity.

Keeping hold of Pochettino is every bit as important as keeping hold of Kane btw. One of the best young coaches in Europe, he's the guy responsible for taking you up a level imo.

Even though I ****ing hate Tottenham and have done since Martin Chivers went there when I was a kid, I actually wish your club well in challenging the rich kids for a place at the top table. But remember that the gods hate hubris - and that pride comes before a fall.

I agree it will be a shame if/when this group break up much like it was (on a smaller scale) when it did for us under Poch.

Things can change very quickly in this league though and I think it's too soon to say that you've cracked the top 4 consistently.

No pride here Archie, I just think with the obvious glass ceiling we are doing a great job. Most fans vilify us for not paying exhuberent amounts in wages when to be doing what we are with the financial constraints is quite an effort.

Sturridge gets more on the bench than Kane does for doing what we all see him doing. I think that's some feat considering the game has gone to the dogs. Yet fans of small clubs can't wait to sell him off to the very clubs they say are killing the game.

Us and Everton were on a similar plain 10 years ago. We have left them behind to become the sole consistent threat to the Sky 4 cartel, Darth Levy deserves alot of credit for that

We have been in and out since 2010... One of the seasons we missed out because Chelsea won the CL even though they finished 5th. We are more consistent than any other club so we are certainly front runners. How long before you would be satisfied with our consistency?

In Hillary's absence <rofl>

Batshuayi has gone on loan to Dortmund which should mean the Aubameyang deal to Arsenal now gets done.

Right, just need a GK, CB, DM and CM now <ok>

... you mean like Arsenal fans are happy with their 'consistency' ? <laugh>

If I'm still satisfied in 15 years time with nothing more than finishing 4th, then yes.

However where we are now is very satisfactory considering we were regular Europa league qualifiers who could only dream of CL qualification around 8 years ago. In that time we have acquired a very good young team who challenges the top 4 and we have ourselves a new avenue for revenue through our new stadium. With that in mind we do hope to push on even further.

So to conclude, we are very different to the 'satisfied consistency' of our neighbours who were sold a bit of a red herring by the owners when they moved grounds.
