As you say ... all about opinions .... and perhaps not surprisingly, I agree with Chief - but then I also have the advantage of having watched just about every minute of football that Mahrez has played in this country .... what I do think is beyond question is that Mahrez is currently a far better finisher than either Sane or Sterling ... but Sane has wonderful potential .... Sterling less so ....

yeah i'd have sane over mahrez but mainly because i can see sane is fine playing the support role whereas we haven't seen what mahrez is like when he needs to play more of a team game.

I think the demise of Leicester after winning the title, all started from selling Kante.

Why on earth if your the champions of England would you sell one of your best players to one of your rivals.

That started the ball rolling for a very poor defence of the title, and halted any chance Leicester had of establishing themself as consistantly one of the top sides.

.... we are on course for a European campaign next season (currently) ... particularly given that the Carabou Cup final is being contested by two potential CL teams <ok>

<doh> because Kante had never heard of us when he joined for £6.5 million so there was a £20 million release clause in the contract that suited both parties (in hindsight) ... that's why ... and let's face it ... he wasn't a bad judge <laugh> .... two seasons, two different teams, two titles ... <ok>

... and as for our 'demise' <laugh> No Leicester fan to my knowledge thought we'd retain the title or finish top 4 again ... that we are currently in seventh and have the best squad we have ever had is something we'd all have taken .... if that's a demise ... great <laugh>

I totally agree on that though.

Slapping the request in the day before deadline is disgraceful. I'd make the twat wait until the next window!

... and that's more than likely BH ... our owners don't take messing ... Kante had a release clause ... Drinky was deemed replaceable ... Drinky would not get into our midfield in front of Ndidi, Iborra, Silva or even Matty James right now ...

Just mean how two of them have now tried to force moves on deadline day particularly, everyone will move on eventually but it can be done in good and bad ways

Fair enough, didn't realise there was a clause, as it was a while ago. You should really have tried to get that clause out mid season by offering him a rise. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

I didn't mean the demise comment in anyway disrespectful, I just think you missed abit of an opportunity to establish yourselfs as one of the big boys, with your revenue being boosted from winning the title and the team you had at the time.

You're best of the rest at the moment, but having won the PL only 18 months ago, I think Leicester really should have been looking to establish themselves in amongst the so called top sides.

I didn't expect you to retain it, just put up a much better defence than you did.

Nothing would have made a difference. We aren’t fashionable and our ‘face’ doesn’t fit with the sky big clubs

Don't give me all that everyone's against you bollocks.

How do you think the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and even Spurs to a lesser degree got the reputation of being big clubs in the PL. it wasn't a tag they earnt overnight, it took years to establish that status.

Chelsea and City obviously had huge outside investment to get to where they are, but none of the others did.

No real comfort to your club is it? Or to the fans who want to see their club build a team. The real way to look at it is...your club won the league, a great foundation to strengthen your club and the quality in it. Instead you all still partying and all the quality players want to leave because they know the owners won't build on that foundation. You epitomise the culture of your club, so happy to have won it the once that you don't really care for what else you might achieve in the future but it's obvious the players have further ambition. Otherwise the fact that he won a medal before his big move has zero to do with anything but your ego.

This goes both ways though, doesn't it? Ranieri didn't last long after that title win, did he?
It's not specific to Leicester. Lots of clubs ask for loyalty, then offer none in return.
If Mahrez suddenly experienced a big drop in form, then how long would it be before he was shown the door?
The way he's gone about it is ****, though. The timing reflects pretty badly on him.

I didn’t say everyone is against us. I said we will never be considered one of the big clubs. Nobody outside of the sky favourites are. It’s a fact and why Kante jumped ship before we even had a chance to build on the success

In Mahrez's defence he hasn't just slapped a transfer request on the table, he has been trying for a move since the summer. And it's also not really his fault that City decide to show a big interest 24 hours before the window closes.

What is he supposed to do put in a transfer request when no one is showing an interest.

What do these transfer requests do anyways, it's not like Leicster have to act on the request, it's pretty much meaningless.

It doesn't happen overnight and 1 piece of silverware is not enough to achieve it. I know you like to mock Spurs, fair play but we have been trying for over a decade and tbf we are right up there with the best in the league, obviously the weakest of the bunch but we have earned the right to mix it with the big boys consistently. Obviously there are a lot of fans that can't see beyond a trophy so won't get what I mean but football people know the progress made by Spurs. That's why we are a bigger club than yours even if you have a title in the bag. Your owners didn't build on your success, that's your downfall and fans like Fosse are only too happy to lap up the recent success, so much, that the eye is off the ball. When that happens you have more chance of emulating Blackburn instead of trying to dine with the big boys.

Everyone and their dog were vying for your club a few seasons ago so you can't say you were not the darlings but your owners quit whilst they were ahead.

'"all the quality players"<laugh> ...Mahrez ... I'm mot aware of any others handing in transfer requests ... so all the quality players want to leave Spurs because Kyle Walker left? <cheers> ... isn't Rose after a move too?

Anyway ... happy with our squad and happy for Riyad Mahrez to go.. At the right price ...<ok>

Far as I'm aware, all they do is signal the intent to leave (on a steeper level that also often becomes public) and also waive any loyalty bonus they had agreed with their curent club, though the likelihood is that bonus they waived is something the buying club will end up paying them as part of a signing on bonus, so they don't miss out either way.
