I think that you are underestimating the ability of some countries to see through the facade. If you are under thirty you may see a version of democracy arrive in Turkey. In Russia most political enemies are removed, but I would not call it a democracy.

There are many ways to remove a political enemy from the running, the media have been doing it for decades in Europe and the US ;)

I’m laughing as it quite simply won’t happen. Not in 2021, nor anytime in the foreseeable future.

I have to admit, my confidence level for the timeline of 2021 2022 is not "high". Too many unknown variables

    True.

Erdogan is a dictator in all but name. Like all his ilk he won’t relinquish power willingly.

    Touché

There’s at least an illusion of democracy. Erdogan has shelved even that?

Several EU states have an appearance of democracy, normally though it is smaller ones where all of the politicians and business people went to school together. Ireland is a perfect example actually

There’s patronage in just about every political system.

Ireland at least has free elections. You won’t see any of that from Erdogan. Or if you do, they’ll be Putin style elections.

what do you mean Putin style elections? What happened in the Russian elections? I am not at all up on that topic I must admit, mainly due to a lack of knowledge of the Russian language.

More representative than the U.K. though. More regional autonomy than the U.K. Works well unless one region wants more than the others

I think it’s pretty clear what happens in any “election” in Russia. Putin wins.
