Kieftenbeld linked with Tigers again

Hull City and Sunderland are planning January bids for Maikel Kieftenbeld, according to the Mirror.

The Dutch defensive-midfielder is out of contract at Birmingham in the summer after joining from FC Groningen in 2015.

Kieftenbeld, 27, almost joined Championship rivals Derby on deadline day in August but the deal collapsed due to red tape.
 
I see Preston have signed striker Billy Bodin from Bristol Rovers. 25, a goal every two games, six foot. Exactly the sort of player City should be looking To sign.

I feel like the opposite is true. The talents of a fringe player who doesn't play much are often exaggerated by supporters who just want to see a change when things aren't going well. And the manager is usually criticised for not playing them more. The fact that were happy to sell him suggests they didn't think he was that great, and the fact we made him our annual end of window panic signing really doesn't make him look good.

You only have to see our horrendous recruitment policy recently. He played against us in the FA Cup at home and looked awful. Think he got subbed in early on in the second half. He’s shown nothing to me in the short time he’s played that he’s any better than Clark or Aina.

Anyway hope he proves me wrong.

So he's currently with 23rd placed Birmingham and he has interest from 24th placed Sunderland and 21st placed Hull. Not sure this is a signing anyone would benefit from!

The second place team agreed to buy him in August, but didn't get the paperwork through in time on deadline day.
