Actually just had a thought. England go the tonk, get past follow on after dinner, put Aussie in and bowl properly. Tell him, he’s dreaming
41-3, fighting but lead is increasing & probably too much after lack luster batting display apart from lower order.
Never does, likes to give bowlers a rest and bat til out of sight. No rain forecast, so no real chance for England ..... unless....
Want to wake up & see aussies bowled out for 100-120 & England end close of play about 150-2 chasing 330!
Aussies 122-8, but almost certainly too far ahead already. Their batting line-up is every bit as flaky as ours.
Not actually far off, but the Aussies already had enough runs before the day started. Chasing anything above 225 would be a big ask. Too little, too late.
Not really possible, but we can dream for another few hours. But if Root and Ali turn up, who knows....... Getting the Aussies out for the lowest total of the series so far and with no one scoring more than 20 is pretty confidence boosting.
Good to see England at least making a fight of it. However, they have got to take the attack to Lyon. Just sitting in and letting him bowl ball after ball is never, ever going to work. May as well attack him and try to knock him out of his confidence. Stokes would definitely have tried to do this! History tells us that England will fall well short, but it's nice to see them fighting back.
