There are those for and those against and even some not sure.

What would it take to sway each camp to move to the other?

    Bruce out.

If he signed a goal scoring striker, left winger and a full back would this satisfy you and get you back on board or can he do nothing now to change your opinions?

    Bruce in

If at the end of the transfer window, we didn't bring in the much needed striker and left sided midfielder, would you be a little disheartened or can Bruce do no wrong in your eyes?

    Don't knows

What are your concerns and what needs to be done to change things

For me, its too late. I think he had a chance this summer to rectify the awful decision to sell Bent without a replacement back in January. That alone is a sack-able offence in my eyes and the fact he has arrogantly decided not to replace him with only 2 weeks left smacks of a desperation signing now. He spent £2m on a useless Mohammady when he could have used that to get N'Zogbia here in a signing on fee.

The man is clueless and if he was given the full Barcelona squad to chose form would probably **** that up too. He would probably have Iniesta at centre half and Messi at full back.

Time for a change for me but for some what would change your opinions either way. I'm interested to see the responses form my fellow Sunderland fans (note craas need not apply).

I'm a Bruce fan, but if the opportunity arose where a better manager became available, then it's a no brainer.
It's the same in any walk of life, if you can get better than what you've already got, then go and get it.

He had faith in gyan, sessegnon looked good yesterday and created a lot. He has faith in ji and wickham to develop into prem players in the near future.

We blantently need a left winger but we have to sell to buy as its repeatly said. We will play worse and win this season its for sure, Newcastle had their set piece monents but that all really as we dominated the midfield till their goal and with only ameobi upfront they had no driving force.

Maybe not even that much, if he keeps picking teams like yesterdays, that's one way.

Keep playing Gyan as the striker and Sess as his back-up is another way.

If he signed the players we needed he'd play them out of position.

At home against a team there for the taking, he dithered and sent out the wrong team.

    He is one dimensional tactically.

His substitutions make no impact on the game.

The only thing I like about him at the moment is he's got a good eye for getting decent players in (but as in my first point, he's not using them effectively.)

Last season I was firmly in the Bruce out camp, but at the start of this season I was fully prepared to back him and I'd hoped he'd got his game together and learnt from last season. It's so obvious now he's blindly carrying on where we left off and now I think we need to change sooner or later.

Also it's not one thing that makes me think we need a change, it's an accumulative drip drip effect that just erodes my confidence in him.

I agree with the first comment, Bruce sold Bent, which is fair enough as he didnt want to be here, but he did not replace him. Since Jan when Bent left, we have been linked with first rate strikers, who know where the goal is, Pav, Crouch, Defoe, Cisse, and also, the striker who didnt get on yesterday for NUFC, Demba Ba.

What amazes me is that for everyone of the above, we have baulked at the price of these players, yet we got alot more for Mr Bent. It just doesnt make sense.

In Gyan we have a player in which, when paired with the right partner is lethal, he showed glimmers of brilliance yesterday, and he will continue to shine in the future, but will be much much more prolific with a partner who he can play with.

Yet again I was dissapointed with Cattermole yesterday, and I cant understand why Gardner sat on the bench for most of the match, and when he did finally get a chance, he came on at the expense of Colback, who was far far better than Cattermole yesterday.

Why buy a goalscoring midfielder, and then put him on the bench?

Catteemole was our best player by a mile shutting everything down.

Gyan is a loan striker for Ghana and its how he likes playing

VS - I think you and I are as one on this subject as your sentiments mirror mine completely. It is a drip drip of poor decisions, tactics and team selctions of which yesterday was a final straw in a series of poor decisions and tactics in games. Our home form in the last 8 months has been as poor as any in the last 25 years and most of that has been down to Bruce. We have been beaten off some pretty average and poor teams at home this last season and now again this season.

Defeat at Swansea and Brighton coupled with defeat at home to Chelsea may just spark a bit of backlash against Bruce IMO. That may well prompt the board to rethink his position hopefully and act while there is still a season to salvage.

I lost faith in him last season and wanted him out then, but we finished 10th and he wasn`t sacked. I don`t think he has what it takes to dominate in the derby matches (which really, we should be, as we`re a much stronger team than the mags). I reckon he`s an average manager and although he will keep us safe in the prem, we will never achieve anything with him but mediocrity.
He`s made some good signings and it looks for the time being that Quinn & Short have faith in him. How long that faith remains, I do not know, but I for one would not be to sad to see him go. If I was Quinn, I`d sack him immediately and get O` Neill in.

I have always supported Bruce...but not now, Bring in Martin O'Neil, his time has come. I am not one for change for the sake of change, but after 2 capitulations a humiliating defeat to the mags last season and now this...my feeling now is..he has to go and the ONLY man that will fill that stadium and give the fans some genuine hope for the future is MON....Please Ellis..do the right thing.

But Cattermole is not a goal scorer, yes fair enough he has his uses, but not in a local derby, where we are playing a 451, with a lone striker who spent much of his time in the channels. to win games, you need goals, and when theres only one striker, you need midfielders who can score, ie, Gardner

I dunno mate I've always rated MON, but with the crisis Everton are in at the minute my first choice would be Moyles. does miracles with a championship budget and (I know I have red n white specs on) but surely we could offer him more than Everton can? He seems frustrated with the club for only having a minimal transfer pot each season and I reckon he'd be worth a punt?

Cestria, I totally agree. We need goals. We needed them last season and we needed them this season. What makes it worse is when those numptys on MOTD say 'NUFC deserved their win', did they bollocks!
