I was only a young man, but I remember The Exorcist scared some people into running out of the cinema,
I guess by the standards of the times (Late 70's wasnt it?), The Exorcist would have been terrifying.
There had never been anything like that.

Never been a fan of horror films really... thought the original 'the ring' was pretty good as it was a different idea similar to saw.

If I watch one I would rather spiritual **** rather than serial killer/monster **** as it's just so ****ing stupid at times as people have pointed out. ****ing hate vampire films too.

Mama was okay I thought.

Just watched the 'Quiet Ones' directed by the up-coming John Progue. University professor conducts experiments on a young girl and soon realises there are dark forces to deal with.
7/10

Didn't realise it was that old

I remember being at my cousins house and watching it in the late 80's

Watched evil dead too and we only got a copy as my cousins mate ran a video shop at the time. It was banned too as apparently people had died or something watching it

The are comedies now, but I remember we made my cousins brother watch it as he was being a twat and he had nightmares for years
