Buying a football club, presumably with the aim of getting it back to the Premier League, isn't really investing in the area it's investing in a football club that has the potential to operate on a global scale. As that's the case, Ehab's comments are bollocks, there's been plenty of interest in buying the club (A Chinese investor is about to pay £20m for League One Wigan Athletic).

There's also been more investment in Hull in the past few years, than there was in the previous few decades, it's quite obviously on the up.

Yes as I said investment has gone up a little due to Siemens.... And I'll say again I didn't even mention interested buyers for the club (as there has been a number and probs still would be if he wasn't such a Bit), I just said he was rite about hull being undesirable for private investment which it is! Take out Siemens and what other large private investment has hull seen in the last 6/7 yrs?

I love hull, it's my home city and I'll defend it to death and do pretty much every single day in my job, but the fact is we arnt attractive for investment! We don't even have a motorway running into the city...even scunthorpe has that FFS!

I'm currently involved with approx 7 new construction projects in the HU postcode area and only one of those is privately funded, the rest are council, central government funded or EU funded. The 2 others ATM are exsisting hull businesses expanding

Agree with this, although I'm not that bothered by Stoke.

I'm not sure whether Tymon will regret it as he's clearly motivated by money and he's reportedly earning 7k p/w for five years.

Even if he bombs, which he might well do, unless he's stupid as, that'll set him up nicely.

Football wise, my gut feeling is that he won't make it and as ridiculous as it sounds, if we get 750-1m compo for him, it could end up being a great deal for the club - strange as that might sound now.

I'm not to sure either that he will make it to a bigger club. He is big for his age, which is helping him in the last 2 seasons, but whether he can push on and improve remains to be seen.

Yes they are "looking" again though isn't that going to be council funded? Just like all the schools and health care investments....its council or government funded! Private investment is not that great in hull at all compared to other large cities in the UK.

I work in the construction industry all over the UK and other countries within projects with a 5m+ min price tag so see huge investment in cities and the Siemens is the largest I've been involved with in hull. Which everyway you cut it or try and mask it.....hull for private investment isn't that attractive

The cruise terminal will bring thousands in that would probably never have visited Hull.
From that, we will see an upside in retail sales, hotel bookings etc.
All this adds to Hull and from that Private investment will come in.
Hull is on the uppppppppppppppp....

Time to go Egyptian boy <cheers>

Hull is on the up, and it's been time for ehab to go for a long time!!

Don't hold your breath on the cruise terminal just yet though

That's all well and good but it has nowt to do with the business of Hull City.

FFS how many times do I have to repeat it.... I'm talking about hull as an overall prospect! And as much as you try and deny it, it will have an influence on potential buyers now we arnt a Prem team! Get back in the Prem and it won't matter anywhere near as much

He could end up playing Premier League football for 3, 4 or 5 seasons with Stoke City under a settled manager and a club that doesn't have to sell to make up for lost supporters.

If Tymon takes his opportunities he will end up a better player. If he doesn't, or he's not good enough, he'll have 5 years at £7,000 per week. The alternative was staying with Hull City under the Allams on a two year contract, maybe 3, for a lot less money.
He had the opportunity to sign for his hometown club. Us. He blew it.
I hope he ****ing rots in stokes reserves.

Far too much "we" in the playing side.

"Unfortunately they don’t understand the financial elements of the industry. They might see it as asset stripping but look at our wage bill compared to our income. There’s a shortfall every year."

You just made a £35m net profit. Daft ****.

Will go someway towards covering the drop in income we will have this year I'm guessing was the point he was trying and failing to make....also seems to have forgot about parachute payments

Once the parachute payments run out, he will be running as his little spindly cowardly legs can take him. Spiteful horrible ****.
