Yes and Arsene is in the woods, klopp is in the pool with his snorkelling gear and Conte is doing his little jig along the training pitches all waiting to pounce. Can't tell you where Harry is though, mmm!now I worry a little.<laugh>

Hmm........... I sure thats him outside my study window trying to read this Forum.........Oh heck I think its Klopp..........Mummmmmm

Can anyone explain the logic I heard on the radio this morning (and have heard before) that Liverpool will bid after someone else has

Why does that make a difference? We can reject their bid and do whatever we want with another club's...

Liverpool's stance is that they won't bid unless we invite offers, if someone bids and we accept then they could match the bid as it would be clear that we are open to him leaving. We could still reject Liverpool's offer and only accept the other teams though like you said, although I doubt we would do that

Ok got that much. But the follow on assumption is that guarantees his move to them in that scenario

No consideration that their bid is rejected and others accepted (or rejected as well )

Yeah if a team bids and we reject then I don't think they would bid, it is only if another club has a bid accepted that they would match it. If this happened then I think it is highly unlikely that we would reject Liverpools bid and accept only the other clubs if they made an identical offer, the club is a business at the end of the day and not run by fans looking to get one over on Liverpool

talkSports Merseyside correspondence has declared the VD deal dead as Saints management have flatly refused to accept any offers for him and standing firm on the "Not For Sale" stance.
Fingers still crossed but looking more hopeful as the day develops

So they don't get their primary target. It's about time they sign an attacking midfielder then...

Southampton have made a stand this summer...and not just on Virgil. No firm offers have come in for Clasie, Bertrand, Romeu etc....does anyone really believe that no one was interested in any of our players. I suspect that the message has got out there that we aren't selling unless we put them up for sale or loan ourselves. I think other clubs are wary (or perhaps just have better manners than Liverpool). It's the same with Virgil...other clubs have not offered because they don't want to get caught up in a mess and/or have been rebuffed during a quick phone call. That's all Saints wanted....respect...and Liverpool and Virgil weren't showing us any.
