Useless fact of the day - The bloke who hurls the table through the cafe window in Quadrophenia, was none other than Alan Curbishley...
His brother was the Who manager for quite some time. Until Old Trafford was extended the last time a football league ground had 70,000 in was for a Who concert inn the 1970s. When grounds were first licensed the Valley had the largest capacity, thoughbthatbdidn't last too long as they demolished most of the enormous bank down the side which once held 42,000. Went and hada llok up there when we played Charlton in the 1971/72 season and tried to envisage the whole of the crowd from the Stoke cup tie at BT down that one side.
I had a teacher called David Beckham 50 years ago. So knew that one chant by Man Utd fans wasn't true.
Charlton must be one of the most meh of all professional teams. Nobody hates them, nobody is excited to play them, I've got next to no memories of ever playing them. They just don't register.
Had some great weekends away at Plymouth. Pretty sure Massey tours did its usual Torquay stay for those ones.
Best Daily Mash yet. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/...&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork
One of only 13 clubs to ever average 40,000 in a season. As were Wolves. But not us or the Champions Of Europe from West Yorkshire, though one Yorkshire team has.
I know. But they weren't always a little club that passes you by. Years ago they were on more people's radar than we are. Always enjoyed trips to Charlton. Proper fans supporting their club despite more fashionable clubs all around them.
Maybe this is the bunker one poster with a febrile imagination informed us had aliens hidden away in as part of some conspiracy to keep us in the dark. please log in to view this image
You're determined to make it weird. It was me, I never mentioned aliens and you just sound like a dick repeating it, especially as it wasn't what I said. Jesus.
From memory you didn't state there were aliens, you asked what we could see? When the vast majority said they could see **** all - cos there was **** all there - you claimed that other you'd shown it to said that "it" was definitely an alien. Just hanging around near a road sign. As they do. And then you got a bit stroppy. But as I say, this is from memory so I'm prepared to be corrected.
You're right, but that wasn't to do with the bunker, that was contracted work I was asked to do. The other was just something I took on holiday.
I didn't say you mentioned the Bunker. Someone mentioned they knew people were hiding evidence of aliens. More sensible people posted that they were unlikely to be in places that the public knew about and signposted. It may have been you who said it, it may not. The dick is the person who came out with the drivel about it on the conspiracy thread.
