Ojo far more of a gamble, injured all last season, and nowhere near the first team at Liverpool, the fact he's been given a £10m price tag just shows how ridiculous prices have got. Murphy at least has played enough to form a decent assessment of his ability by now.
As in Lewis Gibson. Find a talent, lose them to a team with ambition. Everton then lose them to a "big club".
If only we realised that (minus the fan part) when Ali was available. It's easy to say it now that he's a top player but there were people, myself included, who were wanting to sign him before he went to spurs. Still remains to be seen if we've dropped another bollock not getting Hughes and Taylor too
Norwich City fan opinion seems to mostly be that Murphy ran hot and cold last season. Lacks the consistency to be a above average Premier League player at this point in his development. Reasonably high potential, though they are unsure as to whether we have signed the better of the Murphy twins. A fair few rate Joshua as the better of the two. Overall they seem to think that the fee was pretty decent for them, though they would have preferred more of course.
48 times the price of McGeady. Similar level of player. Ouch. Young though, not that it will help this season.
Ah rather than have a conversation it's arsehole time from the off is it albert? Wasn't here to wum, more out of intrest in the value you're getting. Ok Albert, arsehole time it is Wake up fella. It's the bloke very similar to Murphy regarding stats last season(Bettered in most cases). Not been playing attention Albert? You played in that league last season,
No just trying to have a chat but you're proving to be as socially inept as ever. No wonder so many people think you're a nob head. I'll leave your corpse of a board to it. Tara.
McGeady is likely to be a very good signing for you guys, has a very good season last year and at the sorts of money being mentioned is a snip. £12m for Murphy isn't silly money though, some of the figures flying around in the media for championship players (£30m+ for Cairney) have been eye-watering. 15 years ago we were paying £5-£10 million for championship players (Dyer, Jenas, Bellamy, Bramble) and the market has gone vastly upwards since then. He's 22 and certainly improved for the past 2-3 years so the hope is that he will continue to do so whilst McGeady is 31 and at, or just after, his peak. They were similar levels next year but surely wont be in a couple of years, the big question is whether next year Murphy will be anything like the player we need him to be - I think he'll be an "off the bench" player to be honest. He'll have to do insanely well to dislodge Richie and I suspect Atsu will be first choice left-wing, not sure how happy I am with that but it depends on formation and covering options...
