He made a mistake by putting a time frame on it, he is and has been his own worst enemy, but on the other hand he was Mybe just trying to give fans reassurance and telling them what they wanted to hear? The mini exodus has been players we couldn't stop did to contracts or players that will not be missed if we sign the quality I think we will, obviously Harry is a huge miss and can't be replaced nor did we have to sell him, but he was always going to go during this summer and we got good money

Telling the fans what they wanted to hear - that could be construed as....

a) lying
b) propaganda
c) manipulation
d) bullshit
e) all of the above
f) reassurance

Shall I run a poll and see which answer is most popular??

I've lived with my Mrs for 34 years, if I've never apologised to her for that don't see why I should apologise to any **** else !!!!

Is Max Clark a left back?

I believe so, think he's moved around different positions from LM to LB to CB but fairly sure he's a left back by trade.

Didn't realise he was still with us, was highly rated at one point iirc, thought he had moved on to Cambridge(?) but must've been a loan

You're wrong here syd. Maybe you didn't mean it like that. But it looks like you're saying, good I'm glad he's injured.

And I think we have all read Syd's posts for long enough to have made the jump of faith that it was simply poorly constructed and not intentionally vindictive against a player, just favouring the option it presented. If he used a full stop and not a comma then it might look worse, but the comma leaves it open to reasonable and fair interpretation - or, at least, a question asking if that was what he meant. Nevermind, it seems to be the way of some on here.

As for the vitriolic post by Spesupersydera and the unfortunate likes, this board really is going to the dogs. That's an old saying, if you want one.

What difference does it make when we get them it makes a huge difference because of the numbers required.
Again we don't need 1/2 players who simply slot in.
Also perceptions outside of the club does matter when trying to attract players.
Do you not see the similarities to last season.
I realise you believe a passionless none emotive stance gives you some high ground but doesn't it makes you look naive.

So does that mean you have to rant and over react to prove you are passionate

Or if you are not panicking you must be naive?

I take a calm, non-hysterical look at things.
The players gone/going were expected
Yes we would be better placed had we signed players, but I want right players not any player
Yes Ehab is a .......... insert own description, but he is greedy, and will recruit players so he can ultimately sell the club
Do I want Ehab out of the club, yes I do, but no amount of ranting on here will do that.

I am certainly passionate about City, certainly not naive, and I will never become hysterical.
I think those who are quick to shout "we have no players the world will end, it's all Ehab fault, he doesn't want to spend...." the more naive.

Maybe you should relax and take a more balanced approach to posting in future.

IF the board is going to the dogs then we are all to blame for that. It's no surprise cyber fights kick off now and then, we are a mixed bunch on here some kids some oldies and all ages in between. The posters cover all extremities by whichever measure you use.
It's easy to blame the mods for not controlling things, but we need to remember that they are after all nothing more than willing volunteers and whenever they do step in it's going to leave someone pissed off because they did.
The worst thing i see is that some appear to be bearing grudges against another poster, and no matter what is said the usual suspects will be all over it. All of us need to take a moment before hitting the reply box and think is that really what i want to say.

Tbf I don't like coffee :)

All seriousness though, I don't just defend them, when they do wrong in my eyes I will say, as I have before! At the moment the window is still wide open and there is still a hell of a lot of time to go and business to be done in the window.....i personally won't pull them to bits while they still have time to sign players and improve the squad. If the window shuts and they haven't done it then fair enough I'll say my bit and air my view on how poorly they have done.

I want quality in the window, not just early signings to keep me happy

It's not about early signings though, it's about City losing quality and having absolutely no balance left what-so-ever. It's now fire fighting time and despite what a few people are saying, it DOES get harder to sign people that are half decent in our position, fees/wages are higher, we become very unattractive and it's hard enough to attract people to Hull as it is. We only have 3 weeks to go to the season starts, it's ridiculous. I'm also not nit-picking at you, I just cannot agree with absolutely anything you are currently saying.

Surely if the way to do business is to buy everyone you need early in the window, we'll be fine, seeing as the current players will be staying, on account of other clubs would have bought them already?

I was thinking back to a published document earlier last year which showed how much clubs had paid agents in the preceding season. We had spent I think the second or third lowest.... do you think Escabs unwillingness to pay agents is a stumbling block in any business...
