I didn't go this morning! <doh>

My phone battery died overnight and with it went my alarm, I woke up at half six which was half hour too late to get my **** together. Definitely going after work so no big loss.

I need to go three times a week, got to get my act back together.

That's a big run for me by the way. I wasn't quick but the fact I managed to keep going and not expire out of boredom was an achievement.

My music of choice was- Prince 4Ever.

A genius gone way too soon.

There's always dickheads like that, I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched a chump doing bench with bad form, no collars on the bars so the plates slip off and smash his phone or land on his mate's toes. I trained with collars for around 18 months on every bar bell lift until my form was spot on, now I don't need them unless I'm doing Zerchers.

I tend to use the bench press machine unless I've got somebody to spot for me too.

Anybody got any favourite gym tunes then? Noticed Chief mentioning what he listens to on a run.

I tend to vary mine a lot, there's a lot of hip-hop music in my playlist but for compound workouts I always lean towards big epic battle music.

This is my all time favourite for training though...

I listen to all sorts.

I've got a few playlists from the Amazon Prime music app, Glastonbury greats, Indie 90's classics etc etc, and they are good. A couple of house music sets but I don't listen to those quite so much.

The Smiths, QOTSA, Stone Roses, Black Keys, Public Service Broadcasting all get a play.

Bizarrely I also like to play old Genesis in the gym. Foxtrot, Nusery Cryme and Selling England by the Pound are favourites!

I tend to go for more aggressive music in the gym as it helps me deal with my ****.

The gym's like a valve for me to just get it all out, as I used to suffer badly with anxiety and exercising channels most of that nowadays so I don't have to rely on loads of medication.

Some days I just enjoy turning up and putting myself through the paces, but others I need to go to let off steam and having a good playlist is vital for that because I cannot abide grunters and ****ers who crash weights about as if they're orks.

I don't like Hanson and don't know what a Nickleback is.

<laugh> I've never heard a one direction or a Nickleback song. I never listen to the radio for music, probably been close to a decade since I listened to fm radio. Just Pandora or my mp3 collection so I don't hear a lot of the crappy artists unless Pandora thinks they're similar to tracks I've already thumbed up.

I just know Nickleback and One Direction are the two bands that get pilloried the most.

If I go to the gym I listen to calm music.

Helps me find a better rhythm and I find it a brilliant stress reliever.

You leave the lads alone or we'll fall out. <ok>
