I think he said his fitness is good, just the mental recovery that requires patience - it was a pretty traumatic head injury and there'll be a lot of nervousness around that. Time is what's required.
Makes sense. I'm honestly surprised to see him back out running and training already.

Simon Clark's attempt at a little light hearted relief backfired badly.

Leonid even joked about the Soviet linesman in 1966 which Clark completely missed.

I very rarely criticise the BBC's coverage or the presenters, I have worked in BBC radio and still in work in radio broadcasting to some extent (though not sport). However, I know that as a local sports presenter you'll never win (e.g. they are biased/they hate my team etc etc etc). However, last night's Sports talk around the theme of what questions Simon should ask Leonid Slutsky was appalling beyond words. The programme sounded totally unprepared and he kept talking over his guest! Please tell me that he didn't ask a question about a pattie butty!

He did indeed ask about a 'herb and potato patty', Leo seemed not to understand and the question merely created confusion. Idiotic question to ask in the new managers first official presser, God only knows what the other sports journos were thinking!

That was so embarrassing - All those "what is the Russian for...?" I thought his next ones would be what's the Russian for tits or similar

I think the fact our local press aren't very good might help Leo! If they were hot on his heels firing leading questions at him he might not play ball? he'll soon realise they're crap And have them eating out of his hands? Leo Leo Leo

Well obviously he'll be happy. He's getting a nice wage, so as he says living in the UK is very comfortable for him.

An absolute disgrace that. I'm amazed he didn't ask FC or Rovers though.
I can imagine burns will keep up the hilarious joke and ask himif he's now tried a patty in a few weeks time. That'll be ace and an in joke, indicating a special relationship .

Lenny needs a Russian assistant asap.
