You've lost me.
I've found you.

You'd slid down the back of the couch.
You've lost me.

So after decades of shopping in Hull, going out in Hull and supporting Hull City it makes my money a tourist s money. Get that chip off ya shoulder. And that just about sums it all up, those who think they are in the affluent areas on the outskirts certainly distance themselfs from the City of Hull. And yet when there is something going on in the city they are more than willing to go even though they contributed nothing financially ( I know tourists bring money to the city shops bars etc ) but you know what i mean.
My old stomping ground as a kid was the OPE and NHE borderland with Cottingham and the difference was clear to see, but go around the side of Cott to Bacon Garth and it was just the same as NHE appart from the tag line "we live in Cottingham you know"
Fairly sure the same is to be found in the East and West of the city.

There are whole areas of London where Somalis, Bulgarians, Turks etc etc are each other's throats using all sorts of weapons and I doubt something as daft as garden shears would be used used. An AK47 or Gloch 17 perhaps but a pair of Black and Decker garden shears?
Was London on the list?
You've lost me.
As you like Hull so much you would have no objection to becoming part of a greater Hull? I think it's those who live in the suburbs (sorry out lying villages ) that have the chips.
Are estates in the leafy suburbs on the outskirts? Maybe he lived on Bransholme.
Which part of Hull is in the Balkans?

Estates are all over, even in places like Cottingham and Hessle.
Who?
Greatfield is Bilton grange is. Norff is. Longhill too.Are estates in the leafy suburbs on the outskirts? Maybe he lived on Bransholme.
Have you actually read any articles about it before rushing to give your opinions?

No.
Have you posted any.
My comment came after this post, not rushed into giving opinions on any articles.
Been said plenty of times on here but the tight city boundaries make a massive difference to these sort of things, in many ways.
Hull’s image and broader perceptions of its administration has meant that a lot of your more affluent ‘outskirts’ have distanced themselves from Hull, plus these places seem to have more of a self-identity than say a Didsbury or a Chorlton does in Manchester therefore desire to retain an idea of independence from the city.

Totally agree with you. Would be more than happy with that. When asked always say from Hull as do kids.As you like Hull so much you would have no objection to becoming part of a greater Hull? I think it's those who live in the suburbs (sorry out lying villages ) that have the chips.
All of which misses the point.
It might miss your point, whatever the **** it is but the post from leon, replied to by DDD and subsequently followed up by myself make perfect sense.
..Swindon..Apparently they asked residents what they thought of their city. Plenty of Hull residents are negative about their city. As are residents of other places.
Middlesbrough should be added to those you mention. And Leicester. And Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Blackburn, Bolton, Preston, Burnley...
