Long way to go, but pleased with what we have done (and appear to be intending to do) thus far. Clearing out some of the expensive bench players is wise, as is the fact that we seem to be aiming to flesh out the Academy with the extra cash sloshing around. Still have to do the hard bit and get top-tier first team players, but a solid opening foray.
Do we need an 'Other team straw-clutching' thread, where we can put all the Liverpool-linked posts which say that Van Dijk may still sign for them because we've bought a new central defender, or Les has stopped taking Dutch lessons, or the club bar has run out of Advocaat, or...

Summer wouldn't be summer if Liverpool didn't try to sign one of ours and if we didn't try to sign one from Celtic.
Not wanting to state the obvious, but Pool could cut out the middle man and take Celtic players direct to Blackpool...... Just saying.
