No sell on for Burnley? A little lax for these days.
Wish him well apart from the obvious 2 games each season.
Can we send his moaning relatives his medical bill for the last two years now.

Jay was one of my favourite Saints of recent times so i'm sad to see him go, but it is a good move for all concerned as things had stagnated for him here and others had climbed above him in the pecking order. He is a confidence player so if he gets a run at WBA I expect him to improve on his form of last season.

So with Jay now gone who else do we think may be leaving this summer (in terms of being surplus to Saints - so not VVD/Bertrand/Cedric should they go)

I will go with Clasie and Gardos, think we will look to keep everyone else including Long

Good luck Jay. Such a shame the injury came for him when he was on the verge of something massive. Heartbreaking.

What a fabulous 3/4 of a season he had before that nasty injury.

That run against Liverpool when he made the game safe at 3-1 will always live with me. It was getting to be squeaky bum time. So sad to see a pale imitation of a very good player last year. Like you, FLT, I simply wish him luck and can we make sure no twat boos him on his return?!

If anyone was in doubt about how serious that injury turned out to be, then Jay's next few years put it all into perspective. I remember the immediate post match interview with Rickie Lambert with him saying that Jay's head had gone in the dressing room. That summed up the seriousness of the injury. And it has pretty much devastated his career. He's had the years, where he should have been building, just recovering and trying to maintain fitness, while the club he has played for has got a little bit too good for him to make regular appearances. And that's the thing. Upto when Jay became injured he was a guaranteed starter. During his injury periods he lost his edge and Saints got better. Nowadays he would have to be better than before he became injured to be a regular in the team, and that simply wasn't going to happen. Good luck to him.
