"Bednarek has been a huge surprise for us (Lech) last season. In the 15/16 season he was on loan at Górnik Łęczna (a side battling relegation in the Polish top flight) and did okay-ish there, nothing particularly eye-catching though. Then he was given a chance (partly due to a relative lack of quality CBs) at Lech and suddenly became one of the best players in the league in his position. If I had to describe him briefly, I'd say he's really intelligent, both on and off the pitch. His positioning and timing are both good and he's quite strong physically (although the Prem would obviously be a whole different challenge). There is no consensus among the fans here, some say it's too early for him, others say it's the perfect time both for him and for the club to make the sale. I'm kind of on the fence with this one, though I think Southampton could be the right club for him."

Can't really agree with this article at the present moment in time. The academy lad aside, we've four senior centre backs, with VVD and Gardos with uncertain futures at the club for different reasons.
Three at the back has become a lot more en vogue, but only Bertrand could play as part of the three and he has an uncertain future.
Replacing Fonte\caceres is top priority for the club and I bet signing a youngster with potential won't please a lot of supporters as it is.
He looked like total carp up against Eng U21s the other day when he got sent off

They really haven't. They've put forward an opinion that the majority disagree with, so the majority disagree. Then the person who put the opinion forward has this weird auto-response of "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED A DIFFERENT OPINION ON HERE" whilst everyone else ducks as the toys fly around everywhere.
Seemingly what they're looking for is for everyone to say "oh actually your opinion is brilliant and I never thought of it like that". Sorry, that's not how life works.

Thats a great price. Loadsamoney. We'd never get that for Targett or McQueen so its a good job we're keeping them. We're so well stocked at LB I doubt we'll even notice he's gone.

It's all well and good getting that sort of money in but it's the way they spend it and on whom.
I would imagine most fans will expect Saints to spend that on the team in a purposeful way.
Hope we keep both of them....hope springs eternal, you know. 
Be interesting to know what MP2 was promised. We have a good team on long contracts, but need a few stars....no point in buying back ups. Last season we missed game changers. Mauricio says he has looked at the team...presumably as research before accepting our offer...but that isn't the same as working with them day in and day out. Some may suit him better than they suited Puel....and vice versa. Under those circumstances, do you blow the money and then wish you hadn't....not the Southampton way. I'm expecting some activity in the transfer market, but I feel that, with a new manager, we can also expect some circumspection. We are not a hopeless case that needs to spend to avoid relegation...better to let Mauricio really assess the team.

I like Pied and his eternal attempts on twitter to keep himself in our thoughts....I wish a few more injured players would occasionally post updates. I'm hoping he has a very good season.
Be interesting. He was the one Puel Player. Came in as Claude's man, got injured and by the time he's fit again, his boss has been sacked!
