Not sure if Raheem Sterling was brought up in this area, but it seems he's just made a very large donation to the survivors fund.

We'll done to him I say.
We've all given him stick in the past but that's a great gesture.

Mick Jones of The Clash lived with his Nan on the 18th floor of a tower block overlooking the Westway where he wrote London's Burning, don't think it was the Grenfell though.

Seems there is so much money flooding in which is fantastic, but surely it has be centrally collected. Some twats will be profiting out of this. Simon Cowell has announced a charity single will be made that will generate millions. A really daft question, please don't lambast me... how much would a building of this nature in todays economy cost to build? Is the long term solution to this to rebuild it safely so that those displaced can re instate their connections with friends and community in which they hold so dear?

    Shouldn't insurance cover the rebuild?

He was brought up miles away in Wembley.

You probably called him a little **** at some point.

It's a fair question to ask. I'd guess that a low-cost block (like this one, ie not luxury) might cost £30m to construct?

There's no way they'll rebuild it, it will be a memorial garden or something similar.

Maybe they'll re build on the site of the Academy next door which seemingly might be demolished...

I think that's a wonderful idea; especially if it becomes the standard for excellence in affordable housing. <ok>

I think it's a natural thing to do, isn't it? As long as it's not done disrespectfully.

    Sky News‏ @SkyNews
Number of people missing and feared dead from the #GrenfellTower fire has risen to 70, according to Sky sources.

The protesters are not doing themselves any favours storming the Town Hall, or abusing Council staff and journalists.

Feelings are obviously running very high, but this isn't helping.

My thoughts as well. After the last 2 weeks the emergency services must be mentaly tired. Last thing they need is civil unrest. Saying this I can not imagine how the residents are feeling right now..

So, in two days they have gone from a unified, multi-cultural, empathetic collective to a bunch of vigilantes. I was having this discussion today with a very learned man who questioned the desire of many who come to this country as refugees or migrants to HAVE TO BE in London, one of the most expensive places in the world to live.
