We've definately got the better team going in to this evening, if you had Becchio, Somma, Howson & Gradel then there'd be a debate but without them there simply isn't. If we were missing 4 of our best attacking players (and all 4 of our top goalscorers from last season) and you had your near full strength team available, i wouldn't even debate that you had the better team going into the game.

Got to agree with that. Its a bit of a mini crisis to have 3 games in. If ever there is a better time to play us, its probably right now. Suppose you're at full strength?

We're missing long term absentee Cameron Stewart, who would definitely have made the starting XI(out for nine months with a knee injury), but other than that we're all present and correct.

Point of order but TWS we're playing tonight have very little history.

Ken Bates scrapped the team that used to exist. To enable a club called Leeds to remain in the league, the authorities gave the golden share to the new club that Bates created.

Current TWS are just a franchise.

I wouldn't say there's no rivalry between us. Most City fans are aware that Leeds don't see us as one of their top rivals but to say there's no rivalry is simply untrue, i know a fair few Leeds fans and admittedly the ones that are from Hull look forward to this game more than the ones that are from Leeds but all of them see this as a genuine derby when it comes round, though again i imagine the 'rivalry' probably kicked off a bit more from your end when we had that relegation battle between us a few years ago (who went down? ;))

Anyway I might know a bit more about what Leeds fans think about our rivalry after tonight because there's a very strong chance if i go i'll be taking my mate's ticket (in the home end)
Best be on my guard but it's going to be hard to hide my joy when the Fryatt's third goes in :bandit::bandit::bandit:

If you do go very carefully would not like to think of anyone getting injured i can remember when fans stood side by side with no trouble

Aye there won't be an issue, i'm with about 5 genuine Leeds fans if i go and i know enough about your team (through them) to play along pretty seamlessly.

Somma never starts anyway, he's a supersub type so he won't be missed as much as the others. Apart from that Becchio is the only massive miss as Sam and Nunez are both amazing players to have covering Howson and Gradel, Sam kept Gradel out of the side until his injury and Nunez is our top scorer.

I'm not suggesting you won't have a competitive team, but the 4 players you're missing scored 50 odd goals last season between them. Regardless of you having cover or whether or not they normally start on the bench, you're undoubtedly weakened without them. Whereas the only player we're missing is Stewart who we've had out for months and we've brought in cover over the summer, also despite being an attacking threat he's actually yet to score for us.

It's not going to be an easy game by any stretch, in fact despite expecting the win going into the game, i wouldn't be too disapointed with a point (depending on the performance). But as Elland_Heaven said, there isn't a much better time to play you lot than right now, unless Grayson gets them rallied and it could be the worst time to play you. Though without your captian and other key players, that's unlikely.

Out of the current squads I am really struggling to think of a TWS player I would have over a City player.

Certainly nobody in defence.

Howson is Koren lite.

Gradel might get in there but only when Cam Stewart is out.

Snodgrass could be good for us but only when Brady goes back to United as I think he will get better and better this season with confidence.

Brown and McKenna probably doing the same job to the same standard.

Becchio when fit I would have over Adebola, but McCormack or Keogh over Fryatt? no way.

Sorry but on a player for player level they match us in maybe one or two places but overall we have much the better players.

Can we not get into this? We did this with the Leicester fans and it only ended up with every one of their fans taking their players over ours and us taking our players over them. I'm sorry but it gets nowhere.

For the record i'd take Gradel over Stewart though, was it 17 goals he got last season? Stewart's got bags of potential and pace but Gradel's a proven performer at this level.

It is true that these sort of debates rarely go anywhere.

What I would say though, is if we could swap Adebola for Becchio, Gradel for Mclean, Howson for Harper and Snodgrass for Devitt, we'd probably have the best squad in the league.

Yeah but you could say the same about a lot of teams, going back to Leicester (hopefully none of their fans see this or we'll get branded as obsessed again) if we swapped Adebola for Waghorn, Mclean for Gallagher, Harper for King and Devitt for Wellens then it'd be the same story and that's without mentioning players Leicester have bought this summer (though that's because they're all ****)
