Some people use food banks because it's free food, nothing to do with affordability.

I take you've got vast experience of food banks and first hand experience of this practice then? As otherwise that'd just be a know nothing baseless comment.

The idea that there's a decent percentage of people would go through the ignominy of visiting a food bank without a genuine need seems unlikely to me.

You seen the film Good will hunting? The scene in the bar when the student is trying to impress Sadie frost?

I don't have a blond ponytail though.

It's funny, if I said it was immoral that poverty had increased and wages had stagnated you'd accuse me of being too irrational, emotional and naive when it comes to politics. If I use hard economics you accuse me of being a pseudo-intellectual, which is the typical right-wing baby boomer response to any young person's opinion on politics and economics - condescension based on some odd notion that because you've lived longer you're more knowledgable.

Real wages have stagnated compared to standard of living in the UK, that's just a fact.

There's people that have no shame so don't believe they wouldn't.

9000 x 20% =1800
1800 x 14 = 25,200

are you telling me that parents would pay to put their kids through private school, for them to end up working at McDonalds?

Just because you ended up at McDonalds, it doesn't mean that everyone who didn't go to university ends up there...

Despite my son getting into all three of the universities he applied to, he decided he didn't fancy it and just went off and did his own thing.

And I paid much more than £9k a year in fees.

Not at all. Changes to Corporation Tax doesn't affect the ability of businesses to make ends meet, it affects their after-tax profit margins. It would be incoherent to respond to reduced profits by reducing the size of a business in the way you described, as that would simply make it worse. I've no particular axe to grind either way in respect of Corporation Tax - it's just what you posted made no sense. It's Ok though, you're in good company on this thread.... :bandit:

You know exactly the point I was making, again it seems you're just picking up on the wording I used to twist a point out of something I never said.

Which constituency are you standing in?
