it would figure
another defender who isn't much of a defender
We're going to be linked with so many CBs over the summer because of our awful defending.

Actually don't think we need another CB, Lovren and Matip play fairly well together, the problem has been that both have had lengthy and numerous injuries. Keep both fit and we should be ok.
Think whats wrong with our defending is the lack of cover the 3 CMs provide. Have a great DM and the whole thing will be improved.

ah
i was referring to the Robertson rumour which i think is more likely than Maguire

Lots of papers reported deal for Robertson has been agreed and will be announced when window opens.

Not sure how likely but reporting ot as agreed is strange, not just that we are interested.

Dunno really but once hull lost and swansea won two games ago hull have looked down so...well such stories when a player wants a move are not unusual. It doesnt nnean its true or untrue though.

Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona: Liverpool star makes transfer revelation
LIVERPOOL star Philippe Coutinho says he is happy to be linked with Barcelona.
And Coutinho admits he is flattered to be linked with a club of their stature.

"Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world, so far, nothing has come to me, because if anything comes, it comes to my manager, what I have to do is focus on the pitch," he told ESPN Brasil.

"I have a contract with Liverpool, there are two games, there are a lot of chances for us to be in the Champions League next year.
The Mirror claim that Liverpool have agreed a £26 million fee for Gremio striker Luan ahead of a potential summer move to bring the Brazilian to Anfield to join up with his compatriots Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho in the Liverpool attack. Luan could follow in the footsteps of Lucas Leiva in making the switch between the clubs.

The 24-year-old has scored three goals in as many games in the Copa Libertadores this season and has caught the eye with his movement and sharp finishing. Capable of playing on both the left wing and in a central striker role, it’s thought that talks between the player and the club are now imminent.

The club could already have tied up a deal for one player this summer though, as the Mirror believe that the Reds have already reached an agreement with Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson, with an announcement expected once the season has come to an end with the Tigers facing a relegation battle.

.

Read this on the echo last night, they twisted it to sound positive that Coutinho wants to stay. It reads the complete opposite, sounds like he is just waiting for them to bid

The audience is brazil.

It's pretty match fluff as evidenced by coutinho saying 2 games left.

Brazilian media will always slant towards barca there..the other two tagged on are known rumours to make their other bit look better.

It's a fluff piece. Imo

Barcelona are determined to seal the transfer of Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer and Luis Suarez could play a key role in raiding his old club.

Zinedine Zidane speaks out after James Rodriguez reportedly agrees Man United transfer

The Catalan giants have been repeatedly linked with Coutinho as they chase a long-term replacement for the ageing Andres Iniesta, who has looked slightly past his best this season.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and even Isco from rivals Real Madrid have also emerged as candidates for that role, but latest reports claimed Coutinho had agreed a deal to move to the Nou Camp.

I wanted to kick off a debate on him as I thought he was on the verge of being something special. No doubt he's gone backwards though. I wonder if Klopp could get the best out of him, there's a player in the somewhere. There's the Liverpool Everton thing of course and that's going to be a factor.
If I have to hang my arse out there I'd twist and give him a go, he's the right age at the right price with 1 year left and could add shooting dynamic to our team.

Do I think it's a reality? No I don't think the club's would do business and I don't think he'd want it. He's blue and would not want to move.

Interesting though, if the was a bid it could get interesting.

Carra was a blue <whistle>

What's everyone's thoughts on Robertson then? Seems like it's done deal according to papers.

Seems to be decent option, quick and offers good width and delivery. Can't say I've seen enough to know if he's solid defensively though.

Not seen any of him, can't be arsed watching Hull.
I'll be honest, not that impressed we're looking at relegated players, especially if they haven't really stood out.
That sort of player was ok last summer, but now we should be looking for better.

From what i've seen, he's pretty nippy, not a bad dribbler, crosses are a bit pony and defensively is a bit of a mess.

A little like Moreno but at least he's cheap and he's young so can probably be taught.

Very 1 footed.

If you guys are after a left back, probably someone like Cresswell (although not seen him play and obviously west ham fallen off a cliff in terms of their form) who i've heard good things from.

Pick up Kolarov on a free? Not great at defending but going forward he's great imo.

Chilwell has looked good recently for Leicester. When he first played i thought he was **** but a few performances recently have changed my opinion.

Other than that not too much up and coming or cheap talent in our division who would potentially move. I don't really know much about the LBs abroad short of the usual names that pop up who i've not really watched (Hector, Rodriguez) who would realistically move to you.
