I struggle tosee how playing for Adkins is more attractive than playing for Sven but each to their own and good luck for the season <ok>

I disagree.

The only thing I would say that would affect Maynards decision is wages, club and location.

2) I feel Leicester are more of an attractive club with the ambition, manager, training facilities and players.

Now come on... be 100% honest. That is with fox coloured glasses on. I believe a neutral would say the only thing more attractive about Lecicester would be the money. Our traqining facilities have been good and are being invested in continually, so we can even that up. I would of course look at this through saints coloured glasses, so your point number 2 is null and void for me. Point 1 is true.

As for point 3, half an hour out of town is Coventry and that aint nice :emoticon-0102-bigsm

All I will say is that when we were looking for a new manager, most people said, 'God, I hope it's not Sven.' It was such a relief when he got a job. Our manager engenders team spirit, is a whizz at strategic substitutions and is a constant joy (though often gently mocked). I have the sad news to impart that he is trying to stop himself saying 'in the building.'

Sven doesn't have a clue. How he still gets big jobs these days, I don't know. He has no man management skills at all. Adkins is a genius at motivating people and I'm not sure there are too many better in that department.

Maynard isn't a 20 goal a season player - he doesn't have a problem with scoring but from what I've seen his overall play more than makes up for goalscoring.

In 09/10, Maynard finished 2nd top scorer with 20 goals. Or have I misinterpreted you?

Also on point 3, about coutryside near Leicester (half an hour away) Next door to Southampton is the New Forest, which is.....um huge, well big enough for William the Conquoror!!

Without wumming in the slightest, I can't see that Leicester is a more attractive proposition than Saints right now. To me Saints offers genuine stability, whereas Leicester, as with the majority of Sven's projects feels like a ticking time bomb really.....

I know if I had a long-term outlook which I'd choose anyhow......

Been quite busy. Maynard looks like he is off to Southampton, also Thomas Hitzlsperger is off his holiday & looks set to join Wolverhampton.

Got this off of Twitter not sure how reliable it is but thought I would share anyway.

Like the post before quoted, it's the only season in which he's really been prolific. Didn't say he was a bad scorer at all though.

I can't see how leicester is a better option, equal maybe but not better, hate it when opposing fans state things about ambition and facilities when they obviously haven't done there research, our facilities are top notch and are only gonna get better, whether they are better than leicesters though is anybodies guess but i won't presume anything, unlike some of the leicester fans.

Also how on earth can you be happy that your club are paying those kinda wages in this league? i'd be extremely worried if saints were doing that, that's the benefit of going into administration i suppose,we're not so naive.

Oh how I wish saints pull this off!!

Sven is creepy and old news (he's like Gary Oldman's aged Dracula crossed with Monty Burns with a does of traveling salesman) and although Saints have backing, Leicester have that bank-rolled feel about them. Saints are a more sexy option, are known for attractive football, producing exciting talent players, and are self sufficient. Where do I sign?

When you talk to Prem fans they know nothing about the Leagues below. It's the same for the Championship. Saints think everyone knows our recent history but they don't. We will have some shocks in the Championship, but I'm willing to bet we'll surprise more of them.

Hence why my first forays into the world of betting involves sticking a tenner each way on Saints winning outright :)
