Commachio, of course it'll be a massive loss, but we can't argue with money.I've said it before and I'll say it again if the super rich clubs want players, they can have them. I'm gutted that he's leaving, but I've resigned myself to this ever since he started becoming one of our best players.
If Gyan has an absolute barnstormer of a season but Sunderland don't reach Europe, he'll be off. You may disagree, but when Spurs, Liverpool or Chelsea come in offering him double wages and a £1m signing on fee, he'll lose interest in Sunderland, much in the same way Enrique has with us. You'd have to be a complete idiot not to see he lost interest towards the end of the season and it showed in his football from time to time.
Teams like ours are stuck in endless cycles of replacing our best players. Whilst we both have billionaire owners, they're not prepared to put the same sort of money into the clubs that the likes of Mansour, Abramovich or Henry are. And for that reason, we'll never compete with them.
