Ah bollocks, my bad - he's headlining Isle of Wight, not Glasto!

(Which means he definitely won't be at Glasto as you can't do both in the same year, weirdly).

I'm a bit shocked, frankly.

The knowledge on this forum of Barry Manilow's back catalogue is a little disturbing. Flt and No7, you didn't used to be showgirls did you?
Luckily, my knowledge of Mr Manilow is from google and not my ears ;)

To keep it on topic. I however, do know a bit about Manolo, as Napoli was my late mother's home town, so i keep an eye out for them. He isn't worth 22m yet, but the Saints stardust hasn't yet been sprinkled....

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are the latest Premier League club linked with Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

Southampton and Swansea are reportedly keeping tabs on the Italy striker too.

Shall we try and get this thread back on topic people?

Look out, the fun police are out. Everyone look serious.

(Now adopt serious looking Holmes like stance, lean on mantelpiece and puff on pipe)

So, my semi-Italian friend of impeccable musical taste, what valuation would people in the know Napoli-wise put on this young whippersnapper? And quite simply, is he any bleeding good? The fact that West Ham are chasing him tells us nothing. They are even more desperate than us.

I follow them from afar - but seem to notice he scores a lot. When he plays. If I am correct, not good on his own up front, but he is a finisher who knows where the net is and most of all can hold the ball up. He is playing in a very good competitive Napoli side (I think they are 3rd or 4th in the league). My valuation would be nearer 15m euros - He won't be as big an impact as Mane, but may be a Pelle type signing.

If he can hit a barn door at 10 paces - sign him up - got to be better than we are doing at present!

A new Pelle would suit me. Particularly like the idea of holding the ball. Too often we don't seem to have an out when being pressed by a good team.

Thanks for the update. When I was in Italy last spring, Napoli were in the mix for the title, so his pedigree is pretty good. Fingers are crossed for this one.

Good news. West Ham's offer of £2m plus a kilo of jellied eels is bound to make our offer look mightily attractive to Napoli.
